In 1959-1969 studied at secondary schools in Kronstadt, Leningrad, Stalino (Donetsk). After finishing school entered Donetsk Medical Institute on the faculty of sanitary and hygiene and finished it with the grade of A in 1975.

During 1975-1995 worked in Donetsk Scientific Research Institute of hygiene of labour and professional diseases. Took part in 30 scientific research works, devoted to different industrial factors, such as noise, vibration, pressure, microclimate, radiation and so on at the workplaces and their influence on the miners' health, and also to ecological subjects.

He started as the junior research assistant and has passed the way to the laboratory chief.

In 1979 in specialised council in Kiev Scientific Research Institute of hygiene of labour and professional diseases defended a thesis on competition of a scientific degree of the candidate of medical sciences on speciality "hygiene" on the topic: "Experimental estimation of the effectiveness of inhalation devices in prevention of dust lesion of breathing organs".

In 1982 on the decision of Academy of Science of USSR he was awarded with scientific rank of the senior scientific assistant on the speciality "hygiene".

In 2001 in specialised council in Donetsk State Medical University defended the thesis on competition of a scientific degree of the doctor of medical sciences on speciality "hygiene" on the topic: " Hygienic bases of prevention of negative influence of physical industrial factors on the coal-miners", approved by Academy of Science of Ukraine.

In 2002 he got the scientific rank of senior lecturer on a speciality "hygiene". During his work at the Institute occupied posts of the senior lecturer (from1995) and professor (from2002) on the faculty of hygiene and ecology.

Scientific direction - hygienic estimation of physical, chemical and psychological physiological factors of the environment, including industrial factors, and prevention of their negative influence on the people's health.

The author of more than 230 scientific works, including 3 monographies, 3 sanitary rules, 2 State Standards, more than 30 methodical documents, 5 inventions, and also more than 50 rationalisation offers.

At the moment he reads lectures on radiobiology and radioecology on faculty: "Applied ecology and the protection of an environment".
