1. The Chair of International Business Activity"

The chair was founded in April 1994 in order to prepare specialists for the sphere of foreign economics business (7.050.205 “Management of enterprises foreign economics business”) and international economics (7.050.103 “International Economics”). The graduates of these disciplines obtain training, which takes into account peculiarities of professions concerning the following blocks of disciplines:

  • Fundamental - micro- and macroeconomics, marketing, management, audit, finance, statistics, mathematics, philosophy, Ukrainian and foreign culture;
  • Special – international economics and finance, transnational corporations, international business administration, investment, management of enterprises foreign economics business, organizing export-import operations, customs regulation, international legislation and legislation of foreign economics business;
  • Communicational – business communication, international management, psychology of international business, informational systems, business English, German and French.

Academic studying, practical experience, writing the diploma will allow the graduates to become specialists in the following spheres:

  • Making translations, international contracts and agreements;
  • Organizing, planning, accounting export-import operations;
  • International marketing investigations;
  • Managing foreign currency and credit operations and financial analysis;
  • Attracting foreign investments and managing projects.

Successful graduates can work as economists and managers in the foreign economics’ departments of huge enterprises, specialized export-import companies and firms, joint ventures, foreign currency departments in banks, departments of foreign firms and Ukrainian companies abroad.

Chair consists of 27 lecturers including 2 professors, 10 docents, science candidates.

Together with Ukrainian diploma graduates can obtain foreign diploma or certificate.

Chair also cooperates with Magdeburg University in Germany and French University, so those students who wish, can study abroad for a year or more.

2. The Chair of Finance and Banking

Chair of finance and banking activity was founded on the basis of Chair of Management in September 2000.

General characteristics of Chair

Chair of Management as Chair of economics, organizing and planning machinery building and metallurgic industry was founded in 1969, as Chair to prepare specialists on “Economics, organizing and managing machinery”. The first graduation of engineers-economists took place in 1973.

From 1973 to 1998 it was prepared about 2000 specialists. In 1985 from this Chair was separated the independent Chair of Economics of Machinery industry. And in 1993 it was named as the Chair of Management.

For the Chair’s time being 3 doctors and 12 candidates of economics’ sciences were prepared.

The Chair consists of 1 professor, 11 docents, 2 senior lecturers and 3 assistants.

The Chair prepares also aspirants. In 2001 there were 15 aspirants including 11 aspirants on correspondent form.

The Chair is held by Krivoberets Ivan Borisovich.

Specialties and its brief characteristics

The Chair of Management prepares specialists on 07.050.107 - "Economics" including specialities 8.050.107 - "Economics of enterprise" and 8.050.104 - "Finance" including correspondent form of studying.

The Chair has the multilevel plan of specialists’ training: bachelor, specialist, master. Besides the Chair graduates masters of state management on speciality “Administrative Management”.

The graduates of the Chair are trained to be economists, scientists or lecturers:

  • in industrial enterprises of all forms of ownership;
  • in credit institutions and finance companies;
  • in science and project institutes and laboratories;
  • in government administrations of districts, cities and regions;
  • in high and special educational institutions.

In April of 1999 on the basis of the Chair the Ukrainian student contest on problems of production management was held. 75 students from 31 Ukrainian universities took part in this contest.
