Donetsk National Technical University computer science faculty undergraduate.

Past

I was born on October 21, 1983 in Yenakievo town located in Donetsk region. (Yenakievo on a map of a region, Yenakievo town portal, Wikipedia about Yenakievo).

I finished non-specialized school #15 of Yenakievo. From the early grades I took a great interest in exact sciences. I was enthusiastic about mathematics, physics and computers. Being at senior grades I took part in town-wide subject competitions. I took second place at regional information science competition when studying at 10th form.

My main activity in senior grades was working with computer. I had a chance to work on both programming and networks (FidoNet and Internet). Since 1996 I has been working in private company in Yenakievo. I have been doing simple company documentation work there.

In 1999 I completed my town ISP's order on simple billing system development. When I was implementing this system I've got acquainted with web-development basics.

In 2000 I finished my school and entered "software" speciality in Donetsk National Technical University. I was studying rather good despite the fact that I'd lost enthusiasm about academic education after first years.

In 2001's spring I got a job in DonNTU computational centre software development department. I had been working there till 2003. While working there I've got clear understanding of real production programming tasks as well as RDBMS programming experience.

I took part in university programming competitions. My team managed to achieve winner's place in regional competitions.

In 2003 I was developing a website with small CMS, with automated news support, warez catalog and prepaid internet access card subsystems on order of other Yenakievo's ISP. While doing this project I got acquainted with PHP web-programming language. In significant extent this job has defined my present interests and activities.

Present

I have chosen internet technologies as main direction of both my work and science activity.

Since late 2003 I'm working as a freelancer engaged in different web development projects, getting jobs directly in Internet. While doing these projects i've got experience of using Internet as full-valued business environment with its own market, own communication and payment engines. I've got experience of using various electronic payment systems both as user and as payment-enabled sites' programmer.

An idea of my current master's work has occured to me while i was doing my main work.

People create websites to solve their certain problems. Nevertheless lot of sites created either don't solve that problems at all or are solving them unsatisfactorily. This happens because of various reasons, and site owner cannot be found guilty in ordering or accepting of low-quality product. Web studio customer is not obliged to have site creating experience. Sometimes even professional cannot quickly determine why does not site returning well.

Technical means (browsers and servers) that are presently used in Internet automatically allow to gather lots of information about how do visitors use certain website. Such ability allows to rise website efficiency measurement on a next level. Automated system will gather all the information about site visitors' behavior and notice common tendencys. With help of that system site owner will be able to see how his site visitors' behavior differs from expected behavior, and what site's peculiarities are leading to this differences.

more about master's work...

My master's work topic is "Methods and means of website efficiency measurement." I'm performing this work under the direction of Alexander Anoprienko, associate professor of DonNTU Computer Science Department.

Future

Web-programming and e-business are main directions of future self-improvement of my choice.

In the nearest future I'm going to work harder as a freelancer; particularly I'll try to create small team that will be able to handle more serious projects then ones I'm doing now. This should be irreplaceable experience for my future work in case of success.

In farther future I want to work in extending Internet as full-valued business environment, not as just one more advertisement place as it is now in Ukraine. There are enough tecnical possibilities for this right now. Nevertheless Internet is not so wide-spreaded here in Ukraine for us to be able to talk about it as about full-valued business media.

In several years local Internet infrastructure will evolve significantly in two directions: Internet connection prices will fall seriously, and much more people and businesses will be covered with it. At that moment Net will really change our life manner — in a way like water-supplies or electricity changed it. And I'd like to be one of creators of that future.
