1. CURRENCY, GOAL AND TARGETS OF THE RESEARCH

   The conveyor lines for cargoes transportation for long distances in case of open-cut mining have widespread application. The depth of mining works grows. In connection with this the new high requirements are made to belt conveyors – increase of the transportation length, angle of slope, speed, output, safety. Solution of the question of safety increase and determination of the preventive works’ periods will lead to the provision of the required long-term technical capacity of belt conveyors.

    The modern damages detection in belts lets to increase the term of their operation at minimal repair costs. That is why, the development of belt conveyors’ safety control is current.

    When designing transport for people along the mine workings they meet the situations when there are two and more alternative routes and means of people transportation. In such cases the necessity to choose the optimal routes and transportation means appears.

    The review of the main provisions of designing the underground transport and available sources established that the main criteria of the choice of people transportation means is time. At the same time in practice the given criteria is not a single value of efficiency. In connection with the above-mentioned, the development of methods for people transportation in coal mines is current.

   Goal of the work - to improve the methods of choice and develop the measures to increase the safety of people transportation in coal mine. To achieve the set goal, it is necessary to solve the following targets:

   1) to fulfill the analysis of the available methods of choice of people transportation in coal mines and reveal the main shortcomings;

   2) to develop the methods of choice of people transportation;

   3) to develop the measures to increase the safety of transport for people transportation.
   

5 CHOICE OF OPTIMAL PERIOD FOR CARRYING OUT PREVENTIVE WORKS
   
The optimal period of preventive measures is established on the basis of dependence [9]:

    where – rate of equipment failure, t/h;
    т – period of time, h;
    Тр – average duration of scheduled preventive measures, h. The average duration of the scheduled preventive measures is:

   where е – grounds of natural logarithms.
   The rate of the belt conveyor failure was determined on the basis of the form:
   where То – average time to failure, h. On the basis of the data of the dispatcher’s emergency book at the mine named after Lenin То = 100 h, from where t/h.
    The diagram of the optimal preventive measures periods’ estimation is given in Fig. 1.

   The optimal periods of the preventive measures:
   At Т0 = 6 h      т0 = 34 h
             Т0= 9 h     т0= 40 h
             Т0 = 18 h     т0 = 55 h
   Along with the above-mentioned, to provide the required technical output of the belt conveyor, reduction of time of emergency stand idle it is necessary to use the technical means of emergency control. As practice evidences one of the most repetitive types of emergencies on the conveying transport is the belt tear.

    CONCLUSIONS

   1) The optimal types of transport as to time for workers’ transportation along the workings of the mine named after Lenin are given in the work: descent on the conveyor main is made by the rope haulage, then by foot on the slope crosscut No. 3, transportation on the root conveyor gradient is better to fulfill with the help of the rope haulage and transportation on the conveyor assembly No. 1 is carried out with the help of the rope haulage; as a result, having summarized the time of delivery by each type of transport we get the total time of transportation to the face No. 1 – 10 min.
   2) Using the graph-analytical method they determined the optimal route of people transportation to the longwall face, which length is 1,975 m.
    3) They determined the optimal periods of the preventive measures using the data of the mine named after Lenin. The optimal period of the preventive measures is 55 hours, intermediate – 40 hours, maximal – 34 hours. According to the results of the fulfilled researches 2 works were published, 1 application of utility model was made and sent to Kiev.
