Urgency of a question


          Ukraine today experienced power crisis which started in 2005. Strategic ways of ukrainian energetic developmentare exposed to serious revision.Ukraine is one of the leading countries in the world in coal mining. Coal is the only kind of fuel enough to satisfy the needs of all industrial sectors in Ukraine for many centuries. The main users of coal are thermal power stations and chemical-recovery industry.

          However coal mining is falling down in Ukraine nowadays. Coal industry is the most problematic one in our country. More than 96% of ukrainian mines operate now without being reconstructed for 20 years. Labour productivity at ukrainian mine (27,4 t/month) is almost 5 times less than in Russia (132,9 t/month). One of the urgent problems in ukrainian coal industry is the problem of preparatory works acceleration.

          Ukrainian coal deposits can be characterized by extraordinary difficult mining conditions:

-small thickness of coal layers (in layers with thickness more than 1 m is only 35% supplies of coal);

-hi depth of development;

-propensity of many layers to the gas-dynamic effects - sudden emissions of coal and gas, mining impulses;

-the temperature of rocks achieves 45-52° C;

-high gas-bearingness - 90% mines works in the conditions of high maintenance of methane;

Tasks of work:


- statement a question of a new technologies development;

- Analysis of the preparatory works:mining terms(on the basis of practice information); choice of an alternative types of equipment; determination of operating descriptions;

- Analysis a multiplying efficiency of preparatory works;

- Determination the economic and social effects of new technology implementation.

          After the production of operating indexes we'll choose a rational work mode. We'll built a nomogramme and represent dependences on it.

          Factors are limiting the productivity:

1. Maximal speed of executive device moving;

2. Maximal effort of executive device moving;

3. Radius of chisels;

4. Ability to load a mining mass;

5. Steady moment of drive electromotors;

6. Thermal possibilities of electric machines;

7. Stability of the carcass dynamic characteristic;

8. Stability of the hydraulic transmissions;

9. Theoretical productivity of transport vehicles;

10. Speed of fastening;

11. Gas factor.

Review of results and prospects


           For today I explored an information about mining terms, preparatory works information, enterprise equipment, economic information. Were exprored the alternative types of equipment were considered, calculations of tunnel complex operating parameters were conducted. Presently I am on the stage of gas factor determination.

           One of terms of effective and safe work during conducting of the preparatory making on the mines of Ukraine there is providing of their stability at the minimum expense of fastenings materials. In the last few years all greater distribution in coal industry gets anchor shore.

          The problem of utilization is engaged at the A.F. Zasyadko mine (the program of degassing of coal layers is counted on a re-ceipt 250 million cubic meters of methane in a year). Here cogeneration technology is used (joint production of additional electric power and heat on the base of existent gas-thermal generators).Utilization of methane at this enterprise is carried out by incineration methane in the engines of co-generation gas-fired plant (CGFP). Presently first from the mentioned power-stations were implement on a mine. There were 12 generating mod-ules of austrian company Jenbacher set. The module consists of twentycyl-inder gas engine and synchronous generator 3 MW nominal active power. Each of blocks is connected to the single sectionalized busbar system in tension 6,3 kV (on every section connected for 6 blocks). Produced power on two busways tension 6,3 kV passed on the section of busbars at nearby network substation, which feed on numerous users of the underground and surface power supply systems of mine. It is assumed three buildings CGFP, located in a direct closeness of three basic barrels of mine. During complete realization of project total power of stations will be 66 MW, that is a maximal index for CGFP in the world.

          The methane extraction gives a guarantees of accident-free work of miners and possibility to receipt an additional financial resources. Thus, implementation the methane extraction technologies will allow to provide the receipt of far fuel, improve a microclimate in the mines and ecological situation in a region.
