    Introduction

    Every day computer technologies all more active get to our life. Already today many do not think the existence without a mobile telephone or portable digital musical record player . Nobody is already surprised by set in the street or in the vestibule of subway ATM with the function of delivery of cash on a hand with the credit card. More and more amateur photographers prefer digital cameras. What does unite all these devices? An answer is simple enough — all of them contain a microprocessor.  Thus it productive enough: all some years ago its computing power would seem dream to the majority of owners of desktop computers. The operating system and the applied program are necessary for revival of such microprocessor and performance of the functions assigned to it.     Purpose and tasks of work

    A research object is the operating system Windows Embedded CE 6.0 and algorithms, facilities of organization of the computer systems on the base of technology client-server. A primary purpose is research of structure and modes of operations of Windows CE, and review of modern terminal decisions in the world, their analysis for the subsequent using for development of client on a base ebox 2300.

    Actuality of theme

    In our time the use of terminal decisions on the basis of technology of thin client becomes very actual.  In few words a thin client is off-line unit without a hard disk . To him are connected  I/O devices (keyboard, mouse, kart-rider, monitor, printer, columns and other ) . A device is intended for the input of information and dispatch of her on a server, and also for the conclusion of information, accepted from a server. A terminal is connected to the server on the local network of Ethernet, by a modem or on successive flow lines. On a server must be set a multitask OS , also  a server must be powerful enough (as compared to terminals which are connected to him). In general case, a thin client does not carry out treatment of information, all of calculations, take a place on a remote server. For this reason requirement to power of such devices small. In principle, as a thin client can serve even 286 and 386 computers on which it is possible to set DOS or Windows 3.11, and also program, for connecting to the server. As a result we get a fast-acting machine under a management OS Windows 2000 ( if on a server this operating system is set exactly) for work in typical office applications. In a difference from thin clients the modern personal computers  own large power. But for most office and corporate tasks (such as MS Office, 1C , for Web-surfing, e-mail and so on ) large powers are not needed. At the moment even the typical configuration of the computer already with frequency of the processor is more 1GHz

    But on the average (in typical office tasks) it will be loaded only on 10-15 percent. Moreover, sometimes a bottleneck (it at such modern and fast computers) becomes throughput of a network. A good example to they be clients 1Ñ , which generate the big network traffic at access to base during the work

    For this reason thin clients (thin clients) become more and more popular throughout last several years. We will try to generalise pluses and minuses of a terminal method of construction of a network (in case of use Windows ).

    Pluses:

    1.         Guarantee
    •          Promoted reliability.
    •          Protracted term of service.
    2.         Economy
    •          Inexpensive and simple modernization.
    •          Increase of the labour productivity.
    •          Simplification of technology of maintenance of workers .
    •          Centralization of administration .
    •          Economy on licenses SOFTWARE.
    3.         Mobility
    •          Mobility.
    •          Insensitivity to the carrying capacity.
    •          Simple and rapid setting.
    4.         Safety
    •          Checking feature after actions.
    •          Controlled environment.
    •          Strength security is promoted.

    Failings:

    •          A thin client is not replacement the personal computer.
    Terminals are not intended for the performance of heavy objectives, related to the difficult calculations.
    •          High enough cost of server. In fact this machine must be powerful enough, to execute the tasks of many thin clients, connected to her.
    •          In general case all works on one computer-server.
    Therefore must be well-to-do all are possible measures for his faultless work and saving of information.
    •          A necessity is in a permanent communication channel

    Proceeding from it, it is possible to tell that advantages of thin clients are attractive enough to their use in many organisations. It is necessary to define only accurately for itself pluses and minuses of the terminal approach. It is important also to mark that the low cost of thin clients can be compensated the high cost of server side.  However the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO ) at the use on workplaces exactly of thin clients, but not valuable computers appears substantially below (as evaluated by Gartner Group - on 5-40 percents) . In fact TCO consists not only of charges on the purchase of equipment, and yet on administration of this equipment, charges, on modernization. Also here enter loss from the failures of equipment.

    Review of existent decisions

    At the market there are two basic protocols of co-operation of thin clients with terminal servers. First, ICA (Independent Computing Architecture ) from a company Citrix, appeared at the market a few before. Second, RDP (Remote Desktop Protocol ), developed in a company Microsoft and is supplied with Windows 2000 Server and higher. ICA is considered more universal, and his support is not limited only win32-versions of the operating systems Windows. It supports different versions also *nix OS, Macintosh and even Java-clients. And in other the functionality of both protocols was practically compared. Although there is an idea, that Citrix gives large freedom and comfort in administration of terminal network.

    Current and planned results

    Protocol of RDP will be used in our case, and ebox-2300 comes forward as a thin client ( compact computer with the processor Vortex86 200MHz , 128Mb SDRAM, VGA, 1xEthernet 10/100, 3xUSB, CompactFlash, 1x2.5" ).

    On the basis of Windows CE 6.0 the image of an operating system is developed for the terminal. Means of working out of images CE 6.0 are integrated now in Visual Studio 2005. Integration with Visual Studio allows to involve one environment for working out of applied and system programs. From Visual Studio on built in devices there were accessible improved versions of libraries CRT, ATL, MFC, WTL, and also new compilers, on the basis of compilers Visual Studio. That is with the advent of ÑÅ 6.0 development became much more convenient.

    The  terminal decisions firmly entered in our life. In the near time they will win back in «ordinary» the personal COMPUTER all more place is under a sun. In fact complication of modern computers grows continuously, tuning and support of great number of the programs stands all more dear. Can happen, already in the near future, taking into account stormy development of household networks, it will be no longer necessary after the purchase of computer to adjust the numerous programs. It will be enough simply to bring a terminal home, to plug him in a network and use all variety of the programs of licenses and playing complete the pleasure.
