Autobiography

Childhood

I, Jane Yaroshenko, was born on the 10th of June in 1986 in the city of Donetsk. My parents (Alexander and Elena) were very glad to see me that day, I’m sure :). My parents and I lived in the village with my father’s parents for several first years of my life. But when I was 3 my parents decided to move in Donetsk. That was the beginning of my social life – I started visiting a kindergarten. Firstly I didn’t like it but then my mother couldn’t pick me up, she had to persuade me to go home each evening.
In the village there is always much cleaner and fresher air. That’s why I used to spend summer at my grandparents’.
If to believe my relatives’ stories I was a fidgety child and I very often asked everybody “Why?”. Moreover I was greedy especially with children. Shame on me! But at the same time I remained an outgoing, social, attentive to my duties and kind child.

School years

On the 1st of September in 1993 I went to school ¹142. It was a lifechanging event. My classmates were perfect, but my first teacher was awful – nature didn’t present her the gift of teaching. But I tried to study well and I was able to do this.
When I was 9 my parents presented me a sister – Svetlana. I was very glad and surprised at the same time of such addition to our family. I spent a lot of time with my sister when she was a baby. So I had an experience of babysitting!
After finishing the 3th form our teacher was changed. Anna Shulakova was a teacher of physical culture. She was not young. Anna was strict, but also kind – since she’d become our second mother!
When I was in the 5th form I started going to the shaping. I was fond of shaping. We went in for it 3 times per week. It was a significant part of my life. We often performed our dances on different holidays on the Lenin’s square. Now I miss very much that feeling of pleasant tiredness!
During 5th – 9th forms I learned everything that comprehensive school could give. It was good at school but there wasn’t something that I needed. After finishing 8th form I started to think about something more interesting and I entered to preparatory course in the Donetsk College.
I passed introductory exams in the Donetsk College successfully in 2001. So I went to the 9th form again. I liked my studying in college very much. It was interesting and fascinating. Each lesson of Russian literature was whole performance – we played “Dead souls” by Gogol, “War and Peace” by Tolstoy (I played the hero Andrey Bolkonskiy), “Insane Jurden” by Mol’er, we organized lessons of reading poems by heart, lessons of arbitrary topic, where we performed our essays. It was amusing! Our teacher tried not only make us acquainted with Russian literature, but to learn us, what it means to be a good person. I think it’s even more important. I’ll never forget my teacher of mathematics – Dmitriy Pola – he always gave me stimulus to know more and more. It came in useful when I entered the university. And of course my teacher of informatics – Lidiya Zabiyako - she showed me the world of programming and due to her I decided to enter the DonNTU (ICS).

Student life

2004 – the year of my entering to university. During this year I passed 3 rating exams of mathematics. As a result – my score was enough to be enrolled. I was really happy! But my optimism unexpectedly disappeared after the first session. I even thought about moving to another faculty. My parents persuaded me to remain here and now I don’t regret about that. But the first session brought also positive events – I met my future husband :).
The studding process was quite difficult and required much effort to achieve a good result, but it was worth it. So, semesters passed session by session. C++ Builder, SQL Server 2000, Web-programming, English, Artificial intellect and Neural networks – these subjects were the most interesting and useful to my mind.
Sometimes my group mates and I gather to celebrate, for example, Student’s Day. It dilutes a bit our educational workdays.
That year I also entered English courses «Arpi». I liked them madly because our lessons were interesting, merry, and what the main thing is – efficient. There was a restrict rule – do not speak Russian – only English. There were 3 girls and 2 boys. We played different funny games, made presentations of our virtual restaurants, museums, cafes, read books and then retold our groupmates them.
A choice of the supervisor of my scientific work was unambiguous – Alexander Sekirin. It not only an all reputable person and the serious scientific figure – the senior lecturer, the dean’s deputy of our faculty, but also a good person and an excellent interlocutor with excellent sense of humour! I can say one – I’m lucky (in the sense of my supervisor)!
Last summer (2008) I passed state testing excellently and received the Bachelor of Computer Science degree. After that I was enrolled to the master’s group, where I’m studying now. My theme of master’s work is “Optimization of the coal’s coking, using genetic programming”. The sense of master’s work is to find the equation of dependency between factors of technological process of coal’s coking and than, using found equation, to find out the values of factors to get the best value of optimized factor. Now I’d analyzed chosen approach and done overview of existing methods. Next step is realization of chosen approach.
On the 7th of September in 2008 I got married with Sergey Yaroshenko and took the surname Yaroshenko. My maiden name was Grechuk.

Plans for the Future

My plans for immediate future are: to realize my project, to attain the integration of my program in the existing system in conditions of Avdeevskyy Coal Coking Plant, to graduate the university successfully and find a job.
My plans for distant future are: to present my husband a child (maybe several :)), to develop as an individual and to improve the professional characteristics!
