Briefly about me:

I was born in 1979 in Donetsk. After I had finished 8 grades of the #9 secondary school, in the year 1993 I entered the Donetsk Technical College on a technical department, where I studied for three years. In 1996 I entered the Donetsk State Technical University on the department of computer engineering and information science, on the "Computer Systems and Networking" speciality. Now I am undergraduate student. The theme of my master's thesis is "Distant teaching systems".

My computer education have started from a computer section in a Pioneer's Palace. The study was on "Poisk" computers (it was a soviet analogue to the IBM PC XT machine). The computers was connected to a local network and they shared 2 five inch disk drives on a "server", which made initially low productivity fall to impossible limits. When we had mastered the basics of MS-DOS and Norton Commander, we came to the study of my first programming language Basic, GWBasic more precisely. The next was Turbo Pascal 5.5 and so on.

At present more often I write programs on Delphi. I have an experience in writing database applications. Also I have some experience with Visual C++, Visual Basic and Java programming.

Why did I choose this speciality?

Actually before entering DSTU I had no doubts about choosing the faculty. The faculty of computer studying was the closest to my passions. But there was three specialties: a software development, a hardware development and an information systems in management. I don't remember why I've written off the information systems in management speciality. But I had following explanations for my choice of the hardware speciality. Almost all knowledge I had got for that moment I obtained by my own efforts. So I chose hardware development because I had already have some knowledge and experience in programming, but hardware was a real mystery for me. That's why I've selected the hardware specialty.

I can't say I have become a real great electronics engineer but I have got some knowledge which has helped me to understand the computer engineering more deeply. I have no regrets I've chosen right this faculty and this spesilality.
