In a year our family moved back to Donetsk where school 46 became my second home for the next 6 years. Amongst my passions of that period were school studies, music practising at the music school, vocal, olympics in mathematics and physics. After my prize awarded recognition at the city olympics in mathematics, I was invited to enter school 17 of mathematical profile, at which Vladimir Lisov, one of the best math teachers, was lecturing.
Following my graduation from 8th grade of the mathematical school, I entered the technical department of Donetsk Technical College. The destiny presented me with so special teachers, including V.Leitman (physics and chemistry), V.Chernishov (mathematics), I.Zyatev (Russian linguistics and literature). The outcome of my college studies was a silver medal graduation award.
Seven years of studying piano at music school not only inspired me with the joy of discovering the wonderful world of music, but also taught me to be a hard worker and to value the time preciously. However, when I successfully graduated from music school, I realised that the realm of professional music was not for me. What I chose instead for my further education was the study of interaction between the mankind and the nature around.
My hobby is dogs. From the very childhood I dreamed of being a dog-expert or vet doctor, although so far have fulfilled this dream only through experience with my three dogs - german shepherd dog Alcona, schnauzer Comrade, and scotch terrier Diva.
Out of two specialties associated with environmental studies at Donetsk National Technical University I've chosen the one titled EP (Environmental Protection). The choise has not been made by pure chance - my mother was a student with the first academic group enrolled for this specialty. But in 1973 this specialty was titled TSMR (Technology of Secondary Materials Recovery).
During my University studies I took part in scientific Olympics as a 4th year student. I held the 4th place in the all-Ukrainian Environmental Olympics, held on at our University. More than 70 students from different Ukrainian Higher Institutions took part in the Olympics. At our University's team held the 2nd place.
Having been awarded the 2nd place in the Business Ukrainian Language Olympics at Donetsk National Technical University, I took part in the regional Olympics in Ukrainian Linguistics and Literature and was awarded a Diploma for Distinctive Performance. As a result of my winning the University Olympics I was awarded a credit on Business Ukrainian Language without examination.
In 2001 I presented my bachelors qualification thesis "Water dissolination by reverse osmosis" and was awarded a Bachelors Diploma with honours in the major of Environmental Studies.
When I was a second year University student, I entered Donetsk branch of International Finance University in the major Finance as a part time student. In December 2001 I presented my Bachelors qualification thesis "Developing Financial Section of a Business Plan for a Special Economic Zones and Priority Development Areas". Having been awarded a Bachelors Diploma with Honours in the area of Finance with Donetsk branch of International Finance University, I am pursuing Specialist studies at the Department of Retraining with Donetsk National Technical University.
In October 2001 I took part in International Scientific Conference of Students in Young Scientists devoted to the 10th Anniversary of the Ukrainian Independence in the city of Kiev. I presented report "Environmental and Economic Aspects associated with unprofitable coal mines". Whilst presenting this report I made an attampt to integrate my knowledge in two specialties for the solution of the problem which is the most acute for Donetsk region.
As far as my dissertation is concerned, I selected the topic "Feasibility Study of Technical Water Treatment by reverse osmosis". I selected this topic because of its association with one of the acute problems faced by our region. On the one end it is a great quantity of salt infused mine waters which needs to be desalinated and on the other end a lack of fresh water which probably will no longer be delivered to our area through Dnieper-Donbass canal. This topic is being studied using the patern of reverse osmosis unit installed at "Stirol" Concern JSC by OSMONICS, an American company. The local experience reveals a lack of research on this topic which need to be addressed especially in the part of Utilising the Brine Produced. If we manage to resolve this problem in environmentally friendly way then it will be possible to address the problem of demineralisation of a huge volume of mine water discharge, which not only represent waste from operating mines, but also repeatedly remined the mankind of the price we pay for the "black gold" which the nature released to people, eventhough for their over the top toil.
In the future I would like to find employment to apply my knowledge in both specielties. In my view one of the prospective areas is to be a system of monitoring which is to allow not only environmental monitoring itself, but also represent an instrument for sound decisions to be made on a basis of comprehensive environmental and economic analysis.
