At the situation of energetic crisis which Ukrain is currently facing the question of searching for new sources of gas supply is quite urgent. One of the options for solution of this problem for our region is producing of generator gases from local coals. The replacement of natural gas on generator gas is especially effective for the plants of metallurgy and machinebuilding branches of economy which are big consumers of gaseous fuel. Although generator gas has worse energetic characteristics than natural gas the equivalent replacement turnes out to be effective in termes of economics. As economic calculations taken out by the order of some plants show the costs for construction of gasgenerator and infrastructure will be returned in less than a year. In this work special attention is paid to theoretical analysis of gasification processes and working out the math model for determining the best terms of gasification under which the gas with the best energetic characteristics will be produced. As an example of gasgenerator, pretended to supply the small and middle energetics with generator gas, the construction of layer-gasgenerator with some new technical desicions is considered. The question of formation of NOx is being studied very closely. On the basis of results obtained with the help of special calculation programme it is possible to maintain that the yield of NOx in waste gases on combustion of generator gas is twice as less than on combustion of natural gas.
