BIOGRAPHY



Volodymyr was born in 1964. He graduated from high school No 4 with honest in settlement Novotroitskoe of Donetsk area in 1981and entered in Donetsk Polytechnic Institute (DPI) on a specialty “Metallurgy of Ferrous Metals”.
Kochura graduated from DPI with honest in 1986 and has been invited for scientific work on faculty “Metallurgy of pig-iron”. He worked as the trainee - researcher, the younger scientific employee and the scientific employee. In 1988-1991 he studied in postgraduate study at DPI.

In 1992 has defended the dissertation on competition of a scientific degree of Cand.Tech.Sci. on a theme: “Research and development of methods of an intensification of combustion of pulverized coal in blast furnaces”.
He was the assistant at Department of Ore-thermal Processes and Low-waste Technologies from 1993 to 1996. Since 1996 he has been the Associate Professor.
Volodymyr Kochura was elected the Chairman of Department of Ore-thermal Processes and Low-waste Technologies in 2005.

· Resource Energy Saving Technologies in Metallurgy;
· Fuel Combustion in Metallurgical Units;
· Techniques for Protection of Air and Water;
· Ecological safety in Metallurgy.

Published works:
Kochura has published articles (more then 60) in Ironmaking, Resource and Energy Saving Technologies, Environmental protection in Metallurgy.

Honors, awards, grants:
· Grants of Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine for young scientists · (1995-1998);
· Postdoctoral Fellowship for Foreign Researcher in the Institute for Advanced Materials Processing at Tohoku University in JAPAN (October 1997- September 1998);
· The Junior Faculty Development Program Fellowship at the George Washington University in the USA (August 2000 –July 2001);
· Internship at American Iron and Steel Institute in the USA (April June 2001).
