THE AUTHOR'S ABSTRACT

      Tendencies of a modern machine engineering industry are such that it demands such technologies, which would combine reliability, accuracy, quality and high efficiency more and more. But without modern capacities of tool base, it is impossible to reach these results. Therefore, there is a constant search of new designs, materials of tools. The powerful scientific base of our country allows to create and improve new tool material, but along with it deep studying on improvement of properties already used in the industry is carried out.

      At grinding of tools and other products made of hard-to-cut materials, diamond circles are often used. But the properties which diamond already possesses, are insufficient, therefore more and more attention is given to introduction of superhard materials.

      The grinding tool from superhard materials expands an application spectrum in a machine engineering industry, now grinding invariably grows. Researches and knowledge, which would allow to use superhard materials in such a degree, however, are required. Therefore, the basic practical result of master's works was working out of recommendations about application of the grinding tool from superhard materials at processing of vanadium steels, in particular steel R6Ì5F3 was taken as a sample. The results of some practical experiments will be put in the basis of recommendations. It will allow to count up the processing cost price and on the basis of its productivity the circle expense. After all these parameters are basic while choosing the grade of abrasive material. Only the low cost price, high efficiency and high quality will help to promote growth of the enterprise in the conditions of market economy.

For our department this direction of researches is not new, these questions have been studied by (Gabitov V., Poltavets V., Strelkov V, Matyukha P. G, etc.) and now active research work is being conducted too. Application areas also and possibilities of an effective utilization of superhard materials are studied. In Ukraine, the institute of superhard materials of V.N.Bakulja has become a powerful centre of science, which deals with the given problem. Here active work on search of the new superhard materials, new designs and types of tools is conducted; introduction of progressive technologies is carried out.

      But, the potential of scientific researches on perfection and development of machining process steadily grows all over the world. The sign of the big attention of industrially developed countries to superhard materials - as the most perspective for tool equipment, is the fact that USA, Japan, Germany, England, Spain, France use up to 80 % of extracted natural and man made synthetic diamond. Thus, one of the basic areas of superhard materials application is machining process in which about 70 % of total amount of superhard materials is used.

      While doing master's work, the following aims have been put, the achievement of which will be the main task at the decision of an existing problem. On order to receive practical and scientific results, it is necessary:

      — to modernize the equipment for performance of grinding with Electroless influence on a working surface of a circle;

      — to work out a design of the device for grinding implementation, under the elastic scheme;

      — to create and choose a technique of planning and carrying out experiment, and also techniques of processing the data received practically;

      — to calculate the specific cost price of grinding by circles made of superhard materials.

      However, this direction of researches, is not only limited to the given theme. Probably, it's necessary to expand a theme and to put a number of experiments on processing of such hard-to-cut materials, as tungsten, tungstenfree and tungstensmall steels and alloys, and other materials. It would extend a scope and possibilities of use of superhard materials. It would promote stimulation and activation of researches on creation and development of new super hard materials and processing methods, with qualitatively new properties. But, as a kind of technical production, superhard materials and tools on their basis, are high technologies and highly technological production development and support is necessary for centres of science of Ukraine.
