Work of enterprises under conditions of market economy, large specific weight of cost of energy, raw materials and materials in the structure of formation of production cost bring the task of reasonable consumption of these resources to the forefront. In metallurgy industry the biggest part of scrap is formed at the final stage – rolling production where the production cost of metal is the highest.
In Ukraine the issue of decrease of quantity of scrap and other technical and economic indexes by means of maximum modernization and reconstruction of existing ÒËÑ, development of new improved rolling technologies is of vital importance for production of thick plates.
One of the main indexes of efficiency of production of steel sheets is the cost per unit of metal that depends on several factors. Special effect on the cost per unit of production of metal is made by scrap with side and end cuts that depends on the form of produced rollings. Researches conducted in DonNDIchormet showed that on average 85% of scrap and losses of metal is comprised by side and end cuts. Thus, search and development of new ways of decrease of consumption of metal for cuts is an important task for sheet rolling.
Works on pilot research of the forming of rolls in the plan are mostly devoted to observation of one parameter – concavation or protuberance of edges of rollings. They don't take into account the effect of geometric parameters of the rolling process to the full extent, i.e. such criteria as width to thickness ratio, diameter of rolls to thickness. No research works on analysis of forming of rolls in the plan at angle rolling as well as on analysis of metal flow along the length and width of the pocket of deformation in the process of its filling after fixation of irregular ends of a rolling.
Scientific value of work. In my thesis for masters degree it is planned to investigate effect of main factors on parameters of the form of roll ends rolled with the help of the method of twist upper roll.
Practical value of results of work. At rolling with twist upper roll in the first (last) two passages relative squeezing of a slab, Â0/Í0 ratio and total stretching are variable. In technical literature information on research of these parameters was not found. In the following work their optimal ratio was investigated with the purpose of obtaining of the form of a roll close to orthogonal.
Conclusion
Thus, an alternative method of rolling of thick plates with the sidesway of upper roll of the roughing mill is characterized by high efficiency and low costs for realization.
