JSC Plant POTENCIAL was created in 1972 on a base of Kharkov Electromechanical Plant (KhEMZ). Main target of the new enterprise was organization of producing of electric drill equipment for drilling oil and gas wells in West Siberia, Volga region, Turkmenistan and Ukraine. From 1978 the plant began fulfill functions of research works for manufacturing new technical equipment designed by Special Design Office on Submersible Electrical Equipment VNPO «Potential». From this period the plant begins serial production of submersible electric motors for drive of centrifugal oil production pumps and face seals for their protection. In the 80-th the plant begins production of non-explosive sources for exploration work.
Demand on electric drilling equipment during economic crisis decreased and the enterprise extended list of its production in accordance with market demand. Currently the plant produces electric drills and electric drill units not only for oil and gas wells drilling, but for carrying out works in coal-mining industry, bridge piers building, subways under rivers, Metro building and other civil and industrial objects. Submersible electric motors for centrifugal pumps lifting oil and water from wells, mobile sources of seismic vibrations used in geophysical and exploration work are in the plant's nomenclature.
The plant makes quite large volume of work on repair and production of oil and gas stop valves. Face relit seals are now used in many industrial fields. The plant has at its disposal a unique base for performing tests of submersible induction electric motors and electric insulating materials. Availability of design and technology departments allows to design and manufacture products according to customer's special requirements. Over 70 % made production is exported to CIS countries. From 1994 the plant became Joint Stock Company. Main plant's customers are SC Turkmenneft; OSC Baslmeft, Ufa; JSC Ukrneft, SC ALNAS, Almetievsk; JSC Privod, city of Lysva; JSC Ukrneft as well as many other oil and gas producing enterprises in Russia and Ukraine.
The first experimental electric drills were made in the Soviet Union at the end of 1930-th. Their industrial implementation and putting into operation began after WWII. The plant Potencial is the only producer of electric drill equipment from 1972 till now. Over 12 million meters wells for oil and gas were drilled with their help after their implementation beginning. Main areas using electric drilling equipment are Turkmenistan, Bashkortostan (Russia), Ukraine.
ADVANTAGES:
1. Electric drill is a sealed oil-filled machine. Its working parts are no subject to action of abrasive particles contained in solution. So electric drill's parameters are invariable during its all life time.
2. Capacity and electric drill shaft rotational frequency are independent from drilling fluid quantity and characteristics as well as from depth of drilling. This allows to ensure hole making with any was hover agents from air to tough drilling fluid.
3. Change of moment of resistance on chisel during drilling is immediately returned to values of electric drill motor current and capacity. This allows to control process of drilling in automatic mode as well as to check in real-time chisel loading through amperemeter and wattmeter, determine kind of its operation, ascertain its rate of wear.
4. Application of the telesystem during hole drilling considerably lightens making of inclined hole sections and allows to drill branched holes from one stem efficiently.
