For these purposes, mostly dry methods and pneumatic separators of different designs are used.

In foreign practice for dry concentration were used separators "SuperAirFlo" (USA), and separators firms "Wedag" and "Humboldt" (Europe). The disadvantages of these machines include low efficiency of the subdivision of grains through mutual clogging foods that are caused by the movement of the material to the place of unloading in the general stream. Counter-current separators provide a more accurate division in comparison with straight-through.
This trend is developing successfully in Australia, Russia, Kazakhstan, the USA, Japan and China. In China 150 plants of dry processing are operating today, which processed more than 50 million tons of raw coal. In Russia - about 17 plants in Ukraine - 8.
