The Early Years

I want to start the story about my life from the very beginning and to tell, that I was born on August, 18, 1982 in Donetsk, Ukraine. My sign of the zodiac - Leo and it seems that I fit the description very well.
The first images that come to mind when I think back to the days of my early childhood, are my parents, Solomka Igor Nikolaevich and Solomka Elena Nikolaevna; and my grandparents-the grandmother, Milehina Galina Vasilevna, and grandfather, Milehin Nikolay Grigoryevich. I grew up surrounded by their tender care and attention all these years, and only due to them I had a very happy and eventful childhood. There was so many bed time stories, family holidays, road trips, and so on and so forth.
As mom told to me, and I believe her, I always found a way to entertain myself. One of my favorite things to do was to make sketches of letters and pictures from the abc-book to a notebook. I loved to "tell and show" exerps from poems. By the time when I went to school I already knew all the poems of first five classes.
When my brother, Alexey, was born I began to understand what it would be like to have responsibility.

Youth

In 1988 I went to first grade of a comprehensive school #44. There I met my first teacher - Skoromnova Svetlana Pavlovna. In my memory she has remained not only as a good teacher, but also as a beautiful person.
At the same time I started participating in traditional dance competitions, and then I started learning fine arts. We used to dance "Kuklyandia" (a dance with dolls) on all holidays during three years. It became such a bore for me, and I decided to pay all of my attention to art.
I always liked studying very much. My favorite subjects in the senior classes were mathematics, world literature, chemistry and history. Geography was in a category of its own for me. Our teacher and we have made virtual travel around the world, have visited various cities and countries.
Apart from studying I took part in school and regional Olympiads on various disciplines: from home economics to chemistry.
When I was 15, I by lucky chance got into a computer science hobby club. There graduates and students DonSTU explained to me what a computer was, how to work with OS DOS, programs Norton Commander and LEXICON. There I wrote my first Pascal language program.
When our teacher Dmitry Nikolaevich did the course work, he tried to explain to me what graphs were and how easily they are programmed, but I have understood it only much later.
I became interested in this process so much, that in one year I have decided to go to DonSTU for sure to major in "Computer science".
It's so amazing that with help of the matching program it is possible to lead the computer to do something useful.
By the end of 10 grade I had finished training in the computer science club and have received the diploma.
My main hobby out of school was English. I studied the language with a great tutor - Glumakova Ludmila Ivanovna.

University

In 1999 I finished school with a gold medal and decided to enter the Donetsk State Technical University. Without any hesitation I choose the department and specialty.
There I met many interesting professors and friends. However, studying was not so easy for me, but I made efforts to learn all subjects. Most of all I liked studying math, cryptology, computer graphics and neural networks, that's why I decided to do my Master's degree thesis on the following subject: "Investigation of application of genetic algorithms for optimization neural network systems". Fedyaev Oleg Ivanovich agreed to supervise my work and to monitor my progress.
Since the beginning of my fourth year I have learned one more foreign language - Polish. Pan Antony Sodula from Poland and Makeev Alexander Yuriyevich taught us grammar and basics of the language as well as history of Poland. We watched polish films and sang polish songs. Lectures were always cheerful and entertaining.
In the nearest future I am going to pass the industrial practice in Poland. Also I would like to use this time for perfecting the use of Polish language, to learn more about culture and daily life of Poles.
Today it is difficult for me to tell how my professional destiny will be in even one year, but I would like to find an interesting and well-paid job where I could apply all my knowledge and abilities (for example, to create computer-aided design of machinery). And later I would like to start my own business on designing of neon signboards or on development of interior design projects.
