A few words about me

The average grade while study at the university is 4,96. I speak easily Russian and Ukrainian languages. Also, have good written and oral skills in English and German languages.

Except of the basic skills, which were obtained at the University, I have an experience in collective development of complex systems using Subversion[1]. Also, I've taken part in developing DB projects using: PHP + MySQL, PL/SQL, C# with ODBC. Have some experience of working with QT. Attempted to write MFC applications for Windows Mobile. I have also developed Internet bots (which collects a data from web pages) on PHP (cgi), .Net

Childhood

I was born in 10-th of June 1985. Right after this, the childhood should begin. I can't say exactly, when have it happened, as I remember myself only from three or four years old. The most bright memories from pre-school period are connected with personal computers at fathers job and couple of really unfading games: Digger[2] and The Alley Cat[3].

School

I went to a first form of Donetsk school #5 at the 1-st of September 1992. There I have studied for a long 7 years. At this period it was possible to find me out at City Palace of Pioneers few times a week. I attended there chess club and paint shop. While short brakes between studies I used to watch hamsters and fishes at the "Young naturalist club" and to throw full of admire glances at the door of aircraft modeling club.

This two clubs got me to my first "self-dependent" (i.e. without parents) trips outside of the Donetsk: to regional chess tournament in Slavyansk, and to child art festival "The Golden Fish" in Sevastopol.

At 7-th form I've got first experience working with a soldering iron and started to try myself as a programmer on Basic (it was Quick Basic 4.5[4]). This influenced much on my choice of a future trade.

The 1999 highlighted for me with my entry into Donetsk Collage. By that time I have already acquired some life experience and stopped to attend the Palace of Pioneers. This allowed for me to pay more attention to entrance rating tests into the Collage. I showed good results and thus became a student of this educational institution.

Although Donetsk Collage is a school in fact, it made me feel as a real university student right from the first day study: studies split up into semesters, with a ghost of a examinations between them. Teachers started to treat all the students with a respect, which offered a great incentive to study and raised up the self-concept.

The next three years have passed relatively easy (comparatively to the University ;-) and interestingly. The Collage formed stable foundation from good friends and deep knowledge. High level of teaching mathematic assisted to further matriculation, good knowledge in English language, which I have also earned here, made much easier for me to read documentation and to trip abroad. History and biology were just nice subjects. My form-master Alyona Avramenko have taught me a lesson of diplomacy with handling every problem with "hard teachers" of geography, military training etc.

University and research

Having a good experience in rating tests, it was easier to matriculate the DonNTU. At first of September 2002 I became a student of Computer Science department of DonNTU on specialty "Computer Systems and Networks". After one year study at the University, I have been transferred into group on specialty "System programming". In spring of 2004 I decided to try myself on C++ contest, held by ALDEC. This was really nice trial, and I was invited to pass internship training in Poland. For a several years I took part in ACM[5] collegiate programming contests. In 2005 I have been to Bucharest with our team (me, Samvel Arutunyan, Vladimir Lushpenko and coach Arsen Arutunyan) on world semi-final of the ACM contest. There we took 10-th place.

In summer 2006 I've got Pro3 scholarship to do research project work at the Max Planck Institute for Dynamics of Complex Technical Systems from 1 October 2006 to 30 September 2007 in Magdeburg. My research project is concerned to Diana simulation environment, which is developed in this institute. The research area of my master's thesis applies to solve one of the topical issues of this environment.

Actual interests and the future plans

At off-university time it is awaken intense interest to some issues of psychology. At first, idle curiosity had pushed me to study socionics[6], than it made me learning an esoteric literature, which were concerned to consciousness phenomenon and non-physiological arrangement of a human being. In one's turn this caused truly and practice interest to such oriental doctrines as Aikido[7], Qigong[8] and Yoga [9].

The future plans are somehow connected to research activity, but the perfect vision of them has not formed yet. The primary interest relates to the field of distributed computations and web-services, which is accordant to idea of Web 2.0[10]. Guided by the experience of my business trip to Germany I consider that this direction has a great practical value, by condition of a mass distribution of high-speed internet access. Among plans for the nearest future are self-education and developing of my personal interests. Also I intend to study post-graduate.
