The issue of the work

There are many different technological methods of improving detail surface quality. These methods improve exploitation qualities and decorative shape of the products and at the same time are ecologically dangerous for the environment, make difficult utilization of waste products.

That’s why in present work the methods of finishing and strengthening processing are explored, which have no distractive qualities mentioned above.

The matter of the work is to make a complex approach to the basing and technological supplying of the system of surface level parameters in accordance with exploitation qualities and also to make practical recommendations on their realization in circumstances of production department.

Methods of improving quality of machines details

Such progressive methods of finishing as surface plastic deformation (SPD) have many possibilities in management of technological quality of machines details. Using of plastic deformation material capacity and improve the reliability and durability of the products.

Depending on the method assignment and plastic deformations all these methods may be divided into 3 groups (classes):

1) Finishing and strengthening processing by plastic deformation (knurling, breaking-in, smoothering, vibrating processing, dynamical strengthening, electromechanical and combined processing of machine details).

2) Shaping processing by plastic deformation (knurling of caw tooth slots, threading, formed surface).

3) Finishing and strengthening processing by plastic deformation (calibration of outward and internal surfaces of rotation and coring).

Combined processing

Combined processing takes a special place among the methods of machines quality improving and blends together cutting tool edge method and finishing strengthening processing.

Nowadays joined turning and breaking in has a wide spread for outward and internal processing which implements together with combined instruments, uniting cutting and reformatting elements.

Preferences of combined processing by cutting and SPD of different surfaces by combined tools as compared with single processing are conclusively proved in modern literature. This method permits not only to improve quality of surface, but also gives a possibility to increase the productivity, reduce efforts of processing, which is a great advantage of combined processing before another methods of outward level quality improving.

But now there are no data enough on rational sphere of combined finishing strengthening processing implementation in reference and normative documentation.

Therefore, this method implementation requires more detailed analysis and predication of finished surface qualities depending on the work material qualities, cutting modes, exploitation behavior of detail working.

So, all methods of finishing by plastic deformation have a wide range of capabilities in parameters of blanket of machine details ruling, and consequently, in ruling of their exploitation qualities. The experience of modern mechanical engineering testifies that, combining cutting process of finishing with SPD we have a possibility to improve productivity and exactness of technological finishing process in accordance with improving exploitation qualities of produced production.

Summary

Implementing of surface hardening plastic deformation with preceding cutting edge handing permits to provide endurance rise of initial surface as outward as internal surfaces of revolution in 2 - 5 times.
