Biography

Childhood

I was born on April 23rd, 1987 in the city of Donetsk. At that time my father, Shapovalov Alexander Sergeevich, worked as a welder at the Leninskiy Comsomol plant. My mother, Shapovalova Svetlana Pavlovna, graduated from Taganrog Radio Engineering Institute and worked in scientific research institute as an electrical engineer.

I was a curious and sociable child. I liked to learn new things. Therefore I asked many questions bothering my parents and tutors in my kindergarten. My curiosity turned even an ordinary walk into a real adventure.

School

On September 1st, 1994 I joined the 1-B class of the school ¹115. At the very beginning my studies were not easy for me because it was a school with profound learning of foreign languages. But when I leant more I understood that all those things were rather simple.

At school my favorite subject was physics. As long my school was focused on languages physics lessons were not many, so I tried to study it individually. I read old technical journals on amateur radio engineering and tried to make different devices myself.

When I was 13 my parents bought me the first computer. It was ZX Spectrum. I liked to play and develop simple programs. Most of all I like the program that drew a flag of the Great Britain.

In senior classes I was interested in martial arts. Therefore I spent my free time at the school carate classes. Also I played team sports: basketball and football.

There was a strong friendship in my class. We traveled together. I remember my travels to Lvov and Kiev, beautiful cities with lots of monuments and interesting people. These trips made my class a real family. I still have good friendly relations with all my schoolmates.

University

My interest to exact sciences has played a significant role when I chose my university. I have chosen DonNtU. So I just had to choose faculty and a specialty only. At the "Day of open doors" in DonNTU I attended a presentation of faculty of the Computer information technologies and automation. There I understood that I want to study at this faculty at the specialty of Telecommunication systems and networks.

In 2004 I passed rating tests and entered the university. I made friends with my groupmates. Together we passed five years and became professionals in the sphere of telecommunications.

One of the most significant events of my student life was a trip to a conference organized by UDEC GROUP company in Kiev. At this conference I familiarized myself with modern concepts of development of networks based on GSM standard. There I met known experts in the domain of mobile communication. Then I attended a seminar held by D-Link Company at our university. At this seminar representatives of D-Link Company have presented new directions in development of network equipment. Participating in these events I learnt much about structure and developments of leading telecommunication companies.

When I got bachelor’s degree and entered the master course I have to choose my scientific supervisor for master’s thesis. Among all teachers who taught me within four years I have chosen Alexander Grigoryevich Vorontsov. It was a right choice for me because I was interested in radio communication technologies and Alexander Grigorevich worked in this field for a long time. With this teacher we worked out the topic of master’s thesis “Analysis of Impact of Increasing Level of "Radiosmog" of the Earth on the Quality of Operation of Receive Path of Satellite Communication Channels and Search for Improvement Methods”.

Plans for future

In the near future I want to master Web-technologies that are new for me. My priority is to become a real professional in the field of telecommunications. For this purpose I plan to find a position that will help me to grow as a specialist expert and allow me to reveal all my talents. I also want to improve my musical skills and develop my creative potential.
