Autobiography

Childhood

I am Denis Okhrimenko. I was born on November 14th, 1987 in Yasinovataya, Donetsk region.
My father, Ivan Okhrimenko, is a technician-engineer by training and watchmaker by profession. He is an extremely inventive and resourceful man.
My mother, Natalia Okhrimenko, is a technologist by training. She worked at the machine building plant of Yasinovataya in a department of manufacturing manager. She is a very kind and responsive person. She is a good judge of character and can always give useful advice.
My younger brother, Pavel Okhrimenko, graduated from the Industrial technical school and his specialty was “Maintenance and Repair of Motor Vehicles and Engines”. He is currently working as a motor mechanic at the service center and studying at the correspondence department of Automobile Highway Engineering Insti-tute of Gorlovka, which is a branch of the Donetsk National Technical University (DonNTU).
I attended the kindergarten since I was three years old. My favorite teacher in it was Olga Yermolenko, whom I still remember.

School

In 1995 I went to comprehensive secondary school ¹6, which, in my opinion, is the best school in the town. There I was carried away by exact sciences. The class was very friendly due to our first teacher Tyurina Galina Ivanovna – a great pedagogue. Since the seventh grade I took an interest in chemistry seriously. Thanks to the school teacher, Olga Garshtya, who infused me with love of chemistry, I have achieved significant results in this area. I repeatedly ranked first in the town olympiads in chemistry. I’m a participant of the regional olympiad. I also participated in the competitions in physics. I studied at the correspondence department of the lyceum “Erudite” for some time. Since 2003, I have been practicing Brazilian martial art capoeira. With the help of it I have made many friends from different cities of Ukraine and abroad.
In top classes I could not determine the choice of further education for a long time. After finishing the ninth grade I intended to enter the Donetsk Industrial Automation technical school, but the parents and the school's directorate convinced me not to do it and I am grateful to them up till now.

University

After passing the exams, I was enrolled in the Donetsk National University at the chemical department. However, for variety of reasons I still decided to enter the Donetsk National Technical University. Since 2005, I have been studying at the Faculty of Ecology and Chemical Technology, my specialty is “Chemical technology of fuel and carbon materials”.
The study of such subjects as a higher mathematics, English, engineering graphics, physics, colloid che-mistry, physical chemistry, processes and devices of chemical engineering, general chemical engineering, ma-thematical modeling and computer application in chemical engineering, capture and processing of chemical products of coking, coke production has brought me the greatest interest and benefit. I have been recently inter-ested in astronomy and astrophysics.
I want to express special thanks to my research supervisor Vladimir Oshovskij. Thanks to him I became interested in computational fluid dynamics, the knowledge of which is now helping me in the performance of master's thesis. Its theme is “The application of modern software packages of numerical simulation for the hy-drodynamic processes research in the objects of chemical technology”. I would like to mention the following academics: E. Zbykovskij, V. Pugach, V. Matvienko, V. Tovstukha, V. Prisedskij, O. Kokorskaya.
I cannot but remember the man who, unfortunately, passed away - Alexander Grebenyuk. He deserves the admiration and respect not only as a teacher, but as a person as well.
After graduating from the university I would like to work at the institute “YUZHNIIGIPROGAZ”. It was in fact was one of the reasons for entering the DonNTU, but not the Donetsk National University.
In the future I would like to see the world. I’m dreaming of travelling.
