Actuality of theme

Now the system of generation of 3g allows the operators of cellular to give unlimited off-wire multimedia-services, for example, mobile television, viewing of Web-page, access to the corporate networks, extended vocal services.
In the work I examine the standard of UMTS. He was developed on the basis of most widespread technologies of mobile communication of GSM and has all of prospects to become the indeed global standard of the personal multimedia-connections. Therefore development of plans of introduction of technologies of the third generation on the initial stage of its development for existent cellular communication networks in the large cities of Ukraine is interesting problem.

Work is part of researches, conducted on the department of AT DONNTU, in accordance with the scientific programs and developments.

Aims and research tasks

The purpose of this work is an improvement of methods planning of network of 3go generation of UMTS on the early stage of its development and functioning jointly with an existent cellular communication of GSM network for the terms of seashore city - port on an example Mariupol. The followings tasks must be decided thus:

  1. determination of market of potential users of network of UMTS in Mariupol on the early stage of its planning;
  2. determination of volumes of traffic of the designed cellular network, utilizing information about subscribers, services by them in-use and character of traffic;
  3. development of flow diagram of network;
  4. determination of carrying capacities of all of areas of network;
  5. development of functional diagram of network;
  6. choice of equipment, development of connecting charts

The developed method can be utilized for the calculation of area of radio coverage of cellular communication of UMTS network for middle and large cities - ports of Ukraine.

Short consideration of basic parameters of UMTS

For the beginning of optimization it is necessary to have the followings basic data:
- plan (card) of location of the base stations, base comptrollers and center of commutation;
- lengths of possible flights (distance between the knots of network - by knots In and RNC), their cost descriptions, necessary carrying capacity and other information.
Choice of indexes of quality of transport networks. At planning of transport networks it is possible to utilize indexes qualities, taking into account: general spread of network; an amount of links is in a chain; cost descriptions: cost of build works, cost of lease of existent lines, cost of equipment and dr.; in-use and reserve carrying capacity; reliability of flight; speed of transmission; bar of frequencies; probability of erroneous reception is beaten (BER) other In this work such are chosen index of quality of every flight, as length and cost of flight.
Thus, every flight and transport network on the whole is characterized the index of quality. It is further suggested to enter the generalized index of quality of every flight as the self-weighted sum of the chosen indexes of quality. In supposition, that every flight is characterized now the scalar index of quality, by an algorithm Prima is the shortest tree for a transport network.

The market of potential users of cellular communication of the third generation network is certain Mariupol. Basic technical descriptions of cellular communication of UMTS network are considered. The flow diagram of cellular communication for terms network is developed Mariupol, the functions of its basic components are certain.
The preliminary calculation of area of radio coverage is conducted are territories Mariupol on a model peasant's Hut. A design as a result of which dependences of coefficient of losses are got at distribution of signal in the network of UMTS.
