Autobiography

Childhood

I was born in Donetsk on April 5, 1988 in the family of students of Automated Control Systems faculty of Donetsk Polytechnic Institute (DPI) Kushnir Karolina Ivanovna and Kushnir Yuriy Leonidovich.

Everything that I have achieved is firstly a merit of my parents. Their efforts, patience and time have brought lots of valuables to my life.

During the first years of my life out family lived in the student hostel of DPI №2. Parents often asked my grandmother Kushnir Nadezhda Aleksandrovna to look after me because they needed time for study. The warmest memories about grannie's care, songs and fairy tales live in my heart. She has taught me to read and acquainted with beautiful and poetical culture of Ukrainian people.

Thankfully to the student environment I quickly learned to talk and walk. Parents devoted a lot of the time to development of me; we often played logic games and games with words. My father always taught me to think wider and to go non-standard ways, to look for “out of the box“ solutions, to find decisions in seemingly hopeless situations.

After graduation, parents started to work as software developers in Severodonetsk. Few years later we moved to Dimitrov. I was attending kindergarten. Computers started to appear at our home when I was 5 years old. Partially due to this, I wanted to work in the field of computer technologies since childhood.

School years

In 1995 I went to the 1st grade of the 10th school in Dimitrov. By that time, I was fairly well prepared. After the 1st grade we moved to Krasnoarmeysk, and I studied at school number 2 during the 2nd grade and at school number 9 from the 3rd to the 10th grade.

Being computer science professionals my parents understood how much fluent English is important for success. Nevertheless nobody tried to hire a tutor. More sophisticated and reliable way was chosen. My parents decided to teach me themselves. Every day, beginning from the 2nd grade to the 7th I had an English lesson with mother. After the 7th grade I began to read more and more English books and magazines. Now my English is rather good.

Krasnoarmeysk is famous for its strong school of judo. The training center was located near my house and I was training there about 3 years, starting from the 5th grade. Now I regret a little, that I did not apply maximum efforts and stopped the trainings soon. Nevertheless they brought many advantages, taught me to work with the greatest feedback and to increase my potential. At these trainings it became clear, that a long, hard, persistent and purposeful work is necessary to achieve the desired goal. Each effort is important, even a jug is filled by falling drops.

I always tried to learn to make beautiful, original and practical things by my own hands. I have overtaken geometrical woodcarving. In the future I hope to master relief-oval woodcarving. For several years I took classes of ceramics in Krasnoarmeysk Youth Center. Knowledge about making products from clay and practical potter's skills were gained there.

In the middle of the 10th grade I moved to the school with advanced Ukrainian. At first it was difficult and unusual to study all subjects in Ukrainian, but after a few weeks I got into the way. It was pleasant to study in that school, besides there we had a new fabulous stadium where we often played basketball and football.

Several times I was a prize-winner of Krasnoarmeysk school Olympiads of physics, chemistry, and history. In the 10th and the 11th grades I won the city Olympiad of English. In the end of the 11th grade I also won "The Krasnoarmeysk Pupil of the Year 2005" competition.

I'm thankful to all the teachers, who gave useful knowledge and skills, and especially to my curator and the teacher of geography of the 10th school Bardan Galina Ostapovna, the teacher of foreign literature of the 10th school Radchenko Natalia Aleksandrovna, the teacher of chemistry and director of studies of the 10th school Molchanova Irina Ivanovna, the teacher of history of Ukraine of the 10th school Chernyshova Marina Evgenyevna, mathematics teachers of the 9th school Tyurina Natalia Sergeevna and Pilipenko Nina Aleksandrovna, cultural organizer of the 9th school Klimenko Natalia Vasilyevna, the primary school teacher of the 9th school Khmeleva Lubov Ivanovna.

University

Software engineering occupation was chosen by me in early childhood. All the time of studying at school I endeavoured to master the knowledge that would be useful to the future job. There were no doubts what university to choose. It was like returning back home. After the interview in mathematics I was taken on board of the first course of specialty "Software engineering. Programming in the Internet" and settled in the students hostel №9. More independent life started.

From the very beginning of studying I was aimed to leave DonNTU as a highly qualified, valuable and effective professional in the field of computer science. I was lucky to be taught by teachers of the Chair of Applied Mathematics and Informatics. I didn't expect that the subjects would be so relevant, modern and necessary.

By the middle of the second course it was time to find a job that would give extensive software development experience and would guide in the field of professional activity. During the winter session and winter vacations I studied Java intensively and planned to make it my main programming language. But in spring C++ language seemed to be not less demanded, perspective, having great opportunities and I started to study it in depth. All the summer after the second course I was studying Visual C++ and programming in Windows, doing a lot of practice.

My work was fruitful and in November 2007 I was happy to join German company “soft Xpansion GmbH & Co. KG” as a programmer. At first it was difficult to study, work and live in the hostel simultaneously. But gradually I adapted and was able to pass winter session with excellent grades. Later I read a few books about time management and began to control this valuable resource more efficiently.

At the 4th year the course of System Analysis interested me very much. The lecturer was Ph.D. Andruckin Alexander Ivanovich. Philosophy, mathematics and programming were entwining prettily in this course. Alexander Andruckin became a supervisor of my diploma project and advised an interesting theme from artificial intelligence field related to innovation automation.

Plans for future

Richard Bach said: "We are each given a block of marble when we begin a lifetime, and the tools to shape it into sculpture... We can drag it behind us untouched, we can pound it into gravel, we can shape it into glory."

I'm making every effort to make my block not just a sculpture, which floods the soul with warm waves of beauty, but also a practical matter, such as a fountain, refreshing in the heat, a bridge across the swift mountain stream or a road stone, that properly directs travellers.

Every day I want to become better, to gain experience and skills, to learn new things, to look at familiar things in a different way, to cope with increasing levels of responsibility, to feel the growth and see how the work is bearing fruit.

The difference in results from working on 100% and 110% is measured in millions with time. I really like to work in the field of information technology, to be a part of this unimaginable breakthrough, to achieve the impossible, realize the full potential and increase it.

After the master's thesis defence and graduation I plan to continue working in the field of software development. I intend to learn how to manage software projects effectively, to organize the process of development, to produce architectural design of software projects.

It is important, that my work benefits the people of Ukraine and people all over the world.
