Biography
I freely speak Russian and Ukrainian languages. My knowledge of English is sufficient for reading and understanding technical documents. The average mark during baccalaureate studying was 4.75.
I, Lautin Maksim Valerievich, was born on 19 December, 1986 in the city of Donetsk. Father – Lautin Valeriy Andreyevich, a retired lieutenant colonel. Mother – Lautina Olga Viktorovna. I am the youngest child in the family, except for me there is my elder brother Evgeniy.
I went to the secondary school No118 in the city of Donetsk at the age of six. I used to be the youngest pupil in class, but in progress I was in the first rows. It was always easy for me to study at school. In childhood I was very keen on going for walks.
When I was in the fifth form parents bought me a computer. All know what happens after that – a different life starts. After finishing the fifth class I understood that school No118 was not for me, and living 50 m away from school was not interesting.
The whole summer I was pleading mother to transfer me to another school. Having learned about one of the central schools of Budyonovsk district, and namely about school No 119, I understood that was what I needed, it was three kilometers from home, and in fact, I liked walking so much!
A simple choice for me was the choice of a mathematical class, as this subject was always my favourite. The only thing I cannot understand until now is whether the favourite subject is which is easy or if an easy subject is which you like most. Our class teacher was Borisova Tatiana Pavlovna to whom I will be really grateful all my life. She always tried to give me individual tasks, as school programme was not interesting for me. And so she had much nerve, protecting me from other teachers, the majority of whom disliked my constant good mood.
The main dilemma before the 11th form was the choice of future profession. With the choice of high school there were no problems, my parents talked only about “DPI”. And with the choice of profession it was not all so simple. The first myth about the “Economic faculty” was broken by my maths teacher from university. He said: “Fellow, this is the Economic faculty though”. Well, all in all right, it was not very desirable. The second myth was the faculty of KITA and speciality of ÒÊS, but even there the same person was involved. This time he proved that this speciality was about everything and still anything. Now I would argue with him. And in the long run I chose the faculty CT and speciality SOFTWARE. But there was no opportunity to attend preparation courses in maths and computer science. Then a decision was made to do ratings in mathematics for some average speciality, like ESE and in summer to take an exam for speciality SOFTWARE.
I wrote the ratings one time, and took the first place. All was going on according to the plan, but at this stage for the first time our institute revealed its character. It appeared that it was impossible to follow my plan. Those who entered by ratings had to submit application documents for entrance examinations. And to write the exam it was needed to renounce the budget place. So I found myself wherein I was then.
And on 1 September, 2003 I appeared in the third university building. In the first semester, as if in reply to my prayers, C++ was taught to us. For me it was the most interesting subject. And in general, all subjects, related to computers, interested me.
My verdict at the end of the second year of studying was as follows: “My heart belongs to other... other speciality”. And I decided to enter the ‘Computer Academy STEP” for speciality “Software development». I thought about the academy as early as in the 10th form, it’s true that not as about a basic speciality, but for overall development. I wanted to enter a semi-permanent establishment (5 hours once a week). Came to learn about the application procedure and that very day passed an interview. And on the spot I made an adventurous decision to enter the permanent establishment (2 years of study, 5 days a week from 18.00 to 21.00 and practically without vacations).
My abilities in regard to programming revealed themselves at the first lesson, when I wrote programs which nobody could write. After a small interval of time it was already not enough for me, and I worked with individual tasks. Two permanent establishments in one day was hard of course, taking into account how interestingly it was for me at the academy and how I stayed up until 4 in the mornings, as there is no limit to perfection.
Results of my studying at the academy were to be summed up in December in the 5th year of university. By this time I had already got some offers from American companies on development of web sites, and on 10 November, 2007 I made a proposal to my future wife. And a hike to an adult life commenced. The next step was looking for a job for winter vacations, which was also crowned by success – an American company and position of a .NET Developer. Well, the following steps go beyond the limits of this biography and can be told only in the circle of close people.
After four years, from the moment of entering the university, I got a bachelor’s degree. My average mark allowed me to do the master’s degree, and I did not renounce it. In fact, being engaged in science is so interesting.
Now a few words about my plans for the future. First, to pass an exam, for the purpose of which I’m writing all this. To start a family on 23 Augusts, 2008; to continue perfecting myself and seek promotion at work; and having gained enough experience, to open my own business and work fro myself.
