Autobiography

The Childhood

I was born on September 11th, 1984 at 1:30 AM in city of Donetsk as a 3rd child in family of young teachers — Vladimir I. Bublichenko and Svetlana K. Bublichenko. By my mother's words my birth was very complicated and tiresome. I entered this world shaking it with my emergence. I am somewhat special in different meaning of this word. Doctors predicted my parents that I would never be able to walk. But eventually I decided to make my parents happy making my first steps then again and again... and now I easily run 10 km. This situation makes its significant impact on the rest of my life in all respects.

In fact I consider the day of my birth to be that very day when I first became conscious of myself. I clearly remember that day when a sudden flash of feelings embraced me on a bright sunny day and I stunningly began to realize my thoughts — one after another and was just vastly glad of being able to walk in the yard touching flowers.

The Family

My father Vladimir I. Bublichenko spent a lot of time playing with us and entertaining us in childhood. Now he is managing educational organization for youngsters.

My mother Svetlana K. Bublichenko made significant influence on me helping me to mould a deep personal responsibility and wisdom. She works as a teacher of philosophy.

My brother Alexey V. Bublichenko involved me into logical games, computers and informatics for what I have always been thankful to him.

My sister Yuliya V. Bublichenko has always been my best friend throughout my early childhood and spent a lot of time and efforts putting the most of her own knowledge and skills into me. She was my first teacher and taught me to read before I went to school. Thank you, Yuliya!

The Kindergartenergarten

The brightest memories I have from kindergarten time are my first friends, funny games and especially interesting toys. I remember myself being particularly interested in musical instruments trying to perceive how they work. And many times I had temptation to break them apart and finally grasp their principle but did not due to my culture.

The School

Studying at school passed unnoticeably. It turned out that my most interesting activities at that time took place not at school but at other educational organizations :-).

Being in my 3rd year of school I and my friend got involved in "International Friendship Club" at local Palace of Young Pioneers (typical educational organization for pupils in Soviet Union) where we mostly were learning English. From time to time, we were also studying ethics, acting, dancing and psychology and participated in numerous cultural events. That club quickly became our second school and home. Most of all I enjoyed English there, which I got keen on immediately due to its marvellous pronunciation. The club was hosted by Alla A. Garda — very creative woman who put enormous efforts and energy into us making us being the best. I express all my sincere gratitude to her. I was visiting that club for 6 years with pleasure every time.

In the same 3rd year of school, I experienced my first use of computer. From the very first interaction with it, I became totally confident that my life must be closely connected to computers. After getting completely satisfied with games, I jumped to Basic Reference book. I tried different sample programs from that book — retyped and executed them then modified and executed over and over again... I greatly admired doing that. But the lack of fundamentals in computer science at that age restricted my first programming experience. However, I overtook it later.

Being in my 5th year of studying at school I tried myself at different technical occupations in hobbyists groups at local Centre of Technical Creativity (another very typical educational organization in times of Soviet Union). I chose rocket modelling and radio-electronics groups during excursion there. But neither of them I attended more than few times as they turned out to be mere boring for me.

Being at age of 14 I had finally become grown-up enough to attend the informatics hobbyists group at the same Center. Attending that group became my favourite spending of free time at that period. We learned fundamentals of computer science there including representations of numbers in computers, data structures, algorithms and were programming in Pascal solving various problems connected to math, matrices, strings etc. From time to time, we also worked out solutions to logical puzzles.

During the studies in my 9th year, I and some of my classmates were invited to form a team for playing Debate game. For one-year period, our team participated in regional competition twice. Long after-class trainings preceded the games. In all the games I played as 3rd player who advances the conclusions on discussed topic and ultimately breaks opponents' line of arguments. My team did never take prize-winning place but the experience I got gave me priceless opportunity for personal development. Playing that game I revealed my weaknesses and realized in what directions I needed to improve myself to become more confident and be able to convince people while not only playing Debate game but in a real life as well.

The Technical High School

My parents imagined my career of being engineer in telecommunications. I agreed to follow their plan since I personally was unsure how better to make my educational and career path at that time. Therefore, afther finishing secondary school in 1999 I entered Donetsk High Technical School of Industrial Automatics for "Telecommunications Service and Maintenance" speciality with a further plan in mind of entering Odessa Academy of Telecommunications after finishing that school. The main principle I learned there was to value my personal time and use it efficiently. While studying there in 3rd year I completely reconsidered my life and future plans and realized what I really want to do professionally — develop software. Therefore in my last 4th year of school I was intensively preparing for entering the Donetsk National Technical University. Consequently, in the next year 2003 I entered the university for "Computer-aided Monitoring Systems in Ecology and Economy" speciality of Faculty of Computers and Informatics. I chose that speciality because it was the only one of pure computer science major. Other interesting specialities majored in software engineering and computer engineering that did not seem to be the best choice for me.

The University

I found studying at university to be more interesting than I expected. On the very first day of studies I got my first impression of real lecture. It was a lecture of higher mathematics lead by Valeriy N. Belovodskiy, who is currently my mentor on my master's thesis. I was amazed how accurately, compactly and with utmost clarity he explained us the higher math. Performing the homework on that subject I realized that whatever I do I should better do it slowly but accurately being confident about what I do and completely comprehend the essence. This principle greatly helped me not only to study very successfully but also to grow professionally later.

Due to my good English I had two summer internships working as software developer in Danish industrial company located in city of Århus. That was my first professional experience that was just priceless to me. The piece of software I developed there and thoroughly tested is still working for company's needs saving it money.

The Master's course

After successfully passing the exam for Bachelor's degree of Computer Science, I entered the Master's course for the same speciality and at the same university.

I chose a mentor and topic for my master's thesis while being in my last year of bachelor's course. I consider my master's dissertation to be quite interesting and challenging problem for developing my analytical skills giving me benefit in my future successful job.

Plans for Future

Future is the most important. It will be exactly as we plan it. To be short my plans for future are very simple — to change this world introducing something new and useful by the very best means I can do that. Such means I consider my prospective successful job in a large software development company collaborating with highly creative and professional people and contributing in development of great software products.

For my personal life, my primary goal so far is to prepare myself to bring up my future children in such a way so that they will achieve much more than I will.
