TOPICALITY OF THE PROBLEM
Coal industry is one of the main branches of Ukrainian fuel-energy complex. Its further development and technical re-equipment are required.
Under the condition of further development of coal industry a special attention should be paid to solving social tasks including improvement of labour conditions and safety methods during the underground mining operations as well as the problem of complex development of coal deposits as gas and coal deposits.
The prospects of supporting coal mining carried out by the state enterprise “Donetsk coal power company” which consists of 6 mines are connected with the project of raising the participation of the mine named after A. A. Skachinsky in coal mining (at the expense of both the closure of mines and the realization of the project as to the expansion from 0,7 up to 0,9 million tons a year). Relative participation of the mine named after A. A. Skachinsky was about 26% in 2007.
The field of the operating mine named after A.A. Skachinsky is situated in the western part of Donetsk-Makeyevka geological and industrial area on the territory of Mar’ynka district of Donetsk region and Kirovsky, Petrovsky and Kuibyshevsky districts of Donetsk city.
The mine is situated in the southern wing of Kalmius-Toretsk bolsom, in the suspended wing of Central overthrust. The structure is represented by the inclined monocline (7° - 16°) which has a northern direction of dip. The mining field is cornerwise broken by Mushketovsky overthrust with the amplitude of 5-163 m, the rest abnormalities are small-amplitude and move to the depth.
From 6 strata of the measure C23 a powerful staunch stratum is developed; the rest strata are in most cases thin and not staunch. According to the depth of occurrence (1000 - 1600 m) the mining field is related to the 2 group of geological complexity.
Production capacities of the mine as to the saleable coal is 0,7 million tons, the mine is profitable. The whole production of the operating mine is used for coking. The mine is dangerous due to sudden coal, rock and gas outbursts.
CONTENT OF THE WORK
In front of the coal industry of Ukraine there is an important task of a complete supply of the national economy with technological raw materials, domestic and power-plant fuel. Donetsk basin which is one of the main suppliers of the most valuable coking coal for the metallurgical industry of the South and the center of the country occupies a certain place in the fulfillment of this task. However the development of many strata of this coal basin is complicated by the manifestation of gas-dynamic phenomenon. Further development of coal industry of Donbass depends directly on a successful solution of the question of degassing the strata and controlling unexpected outbursts. So far gas-dynamic phenomenon (GDP) in coal mines remain one of the most complicated problems of mining engineering. In connection with the transfer of mining to deeper horizons the number of strata which are dangerous as to outbursts has increased, the manifestation of coal and gas outbursts have become diverse. The development of dangerous as to the outbursts strata significantly reduces the work pace in coal mining due to a large amount of outbursts preventive arrangements which in some cases are unproductive. Works connected with the performance of outbursts preventive arrangements and liquidation of outbursts consequences influence not only engineering-and-economical performance, but safety and occupational traumatism at the mines.
It is well known that unexpected outbursts of coal, gas and rock are results of high gas content, so in this work a great attention is paid to the analysis of geological factors which determine the gas presence of coal-bearing deposits. To the opinion of Kravtsov A. I. two groups of factors influence the distribution of natural gases in coal-bearing deposits. Geological and historical conditions of deposit development, metamorphism and material constitution of coals, coal saturation of stratigraphic succession and tectonic conditions which become apparent in a regional plan mainly are related to the first group. To the second group of factors that determine mainly the gas and geological situation within the boundaries of certain mine fields and arears the following is related: tectonic conditions (local), the depth of attitude of bed, hydro geological, geothermal and cryopedological conditions, thickness and the composition of deposits, magmatism and earth surface relief.
Methane of coal-bearing deposits is not only a dangerous inconvenience, but also a valuable alternative fuel source. So in master's degree work the problem of estimating gas reserves in coal and country rock will be analyzed as well as some proposals will be made as to the peculiarities of estimating methane reserves in sand rock.
The given materials are not considered to be the final variant of a master’s degree work.
