Biography

Personal progress

My name is Olga Serozhenko.I was born on June 2, 1994 in Gorlovka. My family consists of 4 people: father, an older brother, me and a younger sister. Father — Serozhenko Alexander — born in 1965, graduated from the Donetsk Medical Institute in 1991. He is a professional neurosurgeon. My father is an expert, a man who adores his work, for him his work is the most important value of life. Brother — Serozhenko Alexander — born in 1988, engineer-programmer, graduated from Donetsk National Technical University in 2011 with a degree in Computer Systems and Networks. Sister — Serozhenko Anna — born in 1999, a 2nd year student of the Donetsk National Technical University specializing in Software Engineering. Our family is friendly and happy. We are always together.

When I think about my childhood, I recall the moments when I was taught letters and numbers, so at the age of 3 I knew the alphabet by heart, at 5–6 years I read well and did the simplest mathematical operations.

Professional progress

In 2001, at the age of 7, I went to the 1st grade of primary school No. 2 in Gorlovka. Curiosity and, what for the small child unusual, perseverance helped me to learn diligently and quickly learn new information. I was given the exact sciences, the love that I carry to them through my whole life.

After primary school, I studied for a year and a half in the secondary school No. 36, and then all the rest of the years I studied in the Ukrainian class in the secondary school No. 73. The 10th and 11th grades I had with in-depth study of the Ukrainian language and literature.

Every summer throughout the primary and partly secondary school, I spent playing football. This game was unusual for a girl. I could not dribble, so I always stood on the goal, which helped me to develop a good reaction for instant decision-making.

My favorite subjects for me always were algebra, geometry and history. Even now, when I have free time, I try to help my relatives with these subjects.

The first acquaintance with a personal computer happened to me quite early, at 5 years, then everything for me was seemed a miracle, I was afraid to sit down at compute or press any buttons. So I sat and just watched my father worked at the computer and my brother played. Gradually, I started playing computer games. Over time, I needed to master the simplest office programs Microsoft Office for studying at school (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

In the 10th grade, I had a question about choosing a future profession, respectively, and the university. After a moment's hesitation, I immediately decided that I would not associate my life with the humanities, since I have an analytical mindset, as my teachers noted. Next, I analyzed my interests and decided that I would act on the programmer. Since my relatives approved my choice, so it was easy to choose the right university. The choice immediately fell on the Donetsk National Technical University, which was one of the best universities.

In the beginning of September 2011 I enrolled in the preparatory courses in mathematics at the Donetsk National Technical University, after which I successfully passed the final exam and got an additional 20 points to the total score of the result of External Independent Testing. I would like to express my special gratitude to the professional university lecturer in higher mathematics and simply to the fine person Olga Gramotina. Thanks to her that I was not too lazy to get up every Saturday at 6 AM and go to Donetsk to listen to a 4-hour lecture.

After I passed the External Independent Test, I entered the university, which I wanted. It was hard for me to study at the first year. First, it was hard to change to a different mode of study. Secondly, I had a minimum of programming at school. We learned a little Pascal, and so we simply mastered the standard programs of any personal computer. Third, living in a hostel, I really missed my relatives, although they lived relatively close to Donetsk. But gradually I got used to everything.

In June 2016, I successfully defended my bachelor's thesis on the topic Mobile application for reading text files for Android OS under the guidance of a smart university lecturer Kolomoitseva Irina.

The desire to deepen my knowledge and get a full higher education led me to a magistracy for the same specialty. At the very beginning of my studies, when they told me to choose the diploma managers, I decided to choose Irina Kolomoytseva without hesitation. After a brief discussion, the topic was chosen as follows: Designing and implementing an intelligent meta-search engine for finding quotes.

Future plans

My main goals are the successful completion of study at the university, the defense of master's work, and to find a job in the specialty where there is the opportunity for career and professional growth. Besides that, I have a great desire to get a family. In my life, there are wonderful people who help me in achieving my goals. This is my family, teachers, and comrades. I'm very grateful to them.
