Master’s degree work theme:
«Development of the automated system of the liver state estimation on the basis of morphological researches' results»

Scientific supervisor: associate professor, Ph.D Privalov M.V.

I was born on March, 10, 1983 in city Donetsk. Parents — Kapustin Alexander Ivanovich and Kapustina Larisa Ivanovna — had been helping me to develop my own creativity during all my childhood years. Speaking about my special merits in preschool age, perhaps, epochal roles of Kartoshka, Repka and Kolobok played by me are worthy of mentioning it. I acted these parts it in dramatic productions of kindergarten N 294 in spite of my frail constitution. Besides, preschool years passed in attempts to realize myself on the musical and artistic fields.

In 1989 I entered secondary school N5, which in 11 years I graduated with golden medal. Learning there didn’t cause any difficulties for me, especially humanitarian subjects, although I was indifferent enough to them. Nevertheless, exactly on olympiads on Russian, Ukrainian and history I regularly took prize places, for what in 10–11 classes I was awarded the grant of the Voroshylovskiy district soviet of deputies.

Fascinations in this period were most different, from astronomy to cookery. Continuing to realize my creative potential, for some time I had been taking part in school choir, and then in the ensemble of folk songs and dances «Vesnyanky».

Visit with my class to the Odessa catacombs made on me the deep impression. The multikilometre muddle of underground corridors with low vaults, laid on a 20–meter depth, left the very oppressive feeling. The most unpleasant thing during this excursion was that for all numerous tourist group only one lantern were given, therefore those, who went in a «tail» of group (including me), roamed on catacombs in absolute darkness.

To conclude about this period, school years left to me bright flashbacks, for what I’d like to thank my class–mates, who were capable of the amusing tricks to relieve boring school week–days, and favourite teachers:

  • Pogrebnaya Elena Ilyinichna, teacher of Russian and literature;
  • Andreeva Valentina Kuzminichna, teacher of mathematics;
  • Hudoyarova Olga Nikolaevna, teacher of informatics;
  • school head-master and teacher of physics Zhukova Valentina Petrovna.

I had determined pretty easily with my future speciality. Humanitarian directions were eliminated simply because I wasn’t interested in them at all. An economy, though it related to favourite mathematics, excluded every possibility of self–expression, which was important enough for me. Indeed, it is difficult to imagine how drafting of accounting reports is able to reveal the individuality. At the same time computer sciences develop swiftly, specialists in area of IT–technologies were and remain one of most demanded, and main is the sphere of computer information technologies gives plenty opportunities for creative self–realization. That’s why I decided to connect my future professional activity with the computers.

In the special issue of newspaper «Donetsk polytechnic» of the Donetsk state technical university (now the Donetsk national technical university) for the university entrants of 2000 year I came across information about different specialities of faculties of the computing engineering and informatics and computer information technologies and automation (CITA), but my special attention was attracted by speciality «Automated control systems» (ACS) of faculty CITA.Therefore, without hesitation, I gave documents on participation in the rating tests, and by its results I entered on speciality ACS on budgetary basis.

For time of studying in the university I was not disappointed in my choice. Years I’d spent in the walls of university I will memorize for all my life and I wish to thank for it my unique course–mates and some teachers who by their good, patient relation to students and sometimes by an original sense of humour (respect to Orlov Yuriy Konstantynovich) turned studies into the real holiday.

My native university gave me a lot of opportunities for comprehensive development. Yet after the first course by results of testing I had got into the special group, where outside a curriculum during three years I’d been studying the upper–intermediate course of English by the «First Certificate in English Gold» program. Evening of Ukrainian, organized by the department of Ukrainian and Russian languages and dedicated to theme «Red is love and black is sorrow», will go down in my memory for rest of my life. My friends and I gathered into the group of amateur actors and represented for public judgement the dramatic production «Three brothers». We approached to creation of our performance though with a humour, but very responsible: script was written, the proper suits were found and essential elements were prepared by ourselves. Our appearance made indelible impression on public and organizers. And in the article of «Donetsk polytechnic» from December, 8, 2003 dedicated to this event our performance was called the best.

In studies and entertainments four years passed unnoticed. In 2004 I got the diploma of bachelor of computer sciences with excellence and continued teaching in a magistracy.

Theme of my master’s degree work: «Development of the automated system of the liver state estimation on the basis of morphological researches' results. This theme was recommended to me by my scientific supervisor — Privalov Maxim Vladimirovich, associate professor, Ph.D. He explained that in this area of medicine there are a lot of unsolved problems overcoming which is possible, inculcating computer technology. In the case of estimation of the state of liver on the basis of morphological researches of cuts of hepatic fabrics one of main problems is subjectivity of doctor–morphologist, because yet there are no universal enough, standard and exact methods of raising the diagnosis. It’s natural that it negatively influences on its authenticity. In my master’s degree work I hope to work out the solution of this problem.

It seems to me, that for speciality ACS there are the prospects in the future conditioned by scientific and technical progress and economic development. Many boys and girls who had already finished or now are finishing their education on this speciality are involved in the most different industries and spheres of activity. High opinion had been formed about our graduated students working in the computer centres of the Donetsk machine–building plant and Avdeevka coke–chemical plant. On many industrial enterprises of the Donetsk region automated systems of production process control, developed by graduated students of ACS, are successfully inculcated. Some boys and girls show their brilliant professional qualities, working in a bank sphere, in consulting firms, insurance companies, advertising agencies, because in fact in modern terms any solid firm or organization can not do without a specialist in area of computer information technologies. I’m sure, that the high–quality education given to the students on speciality ACS of the Donetsk national technical university is the guarantor of that our graduating students in future will be very demanded on the market of job.

In the future I hope to connect my professional activity with the computer graphics and design. For this reason now I spare a lot of time to the studying of different graphic packages by myself. I would like to go with pleasure on work in the morning and in the evening with gladness to return home. As for my creative plans, I dream about writing a book in the genre of science fiction, devoted to the questions of artificial intelligence.
