Final report Fiesa and Bohinj, 16 th to 30 th July 2005
«Catch the Rainbow»
LIONS CLUBS INTERNATIONAL YOUTH EXCHANGE PROGRAM
District 129 – Slovenia

This year's eight traditional Lions youth camp in Slovenia was once again called "Catch the rainbow" or "Ujemi mavrico". In this year 22 campers, mainly from the Europe, could catch the colors of the rainbow with even more exciting camp program and very attractive camp program. This year 22 participants from Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Italy, Israel, Kosovo, Macedonia, Spain, Sweden, The Netherlands and Ukraine, spent one fascinating week at Slovenian seaside Fiesa and another week in the mountains of Bohinj.

There was enough time in these two weeks that the participants discovered every inch of Slovenia, its beauties, habits and customs. Our young friends visited Dolenjska region with Pleterje and Krka River. We have also visited Ljubljana, Postojna Cave, So;a Valey with 1 st world war battlefield, Maribor and Velenje. There was also enough time to discover Slovenian coast, especially Fiesa, Piran and Se;ovlje saltplants and last but not the least Bohinj Mountains with Bled and Bohinj Lake. In fact we have visited all Slovenian pearls and tasted some of local habits.

There was also enough time for relaxation and sports, as swimming, kayaking, golfing, mountaineering and a taste of adrenaline in Adrenalin Park. Young participants meet also District governor of Slovenian Lions Andrej Orel and some members of the local Lions clubs.

But young friends didn’t learn only about Slovenia, as they got familiar with different cultures and religion of the participants, what was especially visible at presentation of the countries. As in every camp new friendships were made, and romantic bonds as well, some of them just for a short time and others maybe for future. But the end had come, and farewell was hard, with a lot of teardrops, which were dried out by promise, that we’ll meet again.

After spending a week with our host families we finally arrived at Fiesa on the coast of the Adriatic Sea. We were all looking forward to it. Most of us had had a good time with our host families. In the hostel in Fiesa, where we are going to live for a week, we first met our camp leaders; we also started to chat a little bit with each other although the camp had not officially started yet. Around at 6 pm the opening ceremony began. Every participant of the camp was introduced to others and we got also some stuff from sponsors, who are very nice :). Also, the governor of the LIONS district 129 held a short speech in which he explained why is it good to take part of Lions Youth Exchange Program. After the opening we went swimming.

In the evening we just chatted with each other and had a good time, there was no »big plan« for that night. Still, we went for a drink to a local bar on the beach. Primož bought everyone a "hello" drinks. Thank you very much Primož, we appreciate it. By the way, the rooms are nice enough, but nothing special, some girls just do not like them. It was a nice day :)

Sunday, 17 th July 2005

We got up very early, because the breakfast was already at 8 am. Come on… :S After the breakfast we started to play games to learn names and important facts about each other. The games were very useful for us; we finally learned each other names. Actually, these games reminded us days from kindergarten and they really created a competitive spirit between us.

Afterwards we had some little time and we went for a swim. The water was just perfect and the sun caused problems to some people, especially to those who were from more northern countries. After the swim most of us showered ourselves. Then we had lunch.

In the afternoon we went swimming again. That was very refreshing ;) After swimming and free time, we had dinner. In the evening we went to Piran and made a short walk around it. It was nice. We also had some drinks in a bar on the coast of Piran. We saw a Ferrari there, well… that was beautiful. We took a lot of pictures of it. Some of us partied even until 2 am in the night (morning).

Actually this first day was mostly for learning names and getting to know each other. There was no tough program for it. The camp had just started off well, we like it. We also like Slovenia because this little country has everything, nice people, mountains and warm sea.

By the way, there is also a negative side of this camp for many of us: at least half of people are not satisfied with the food here. It is not a disaster, but it should have been better, ALTHOUGH that is actually a mistake of the participants, because they did not specify very carefully what they eat and what they do not eat. The leaders of the camp are very nice and tolerate us well. But well… do they have a choice? NO :D

Anyway, the first two days have passed by very nicely. Everybody seems to be happy to be here and we are looking forward to other days, especially kayaking tomorrow.

Here we are… Another day in the camp, we had to wake up at 6.30 o’clock because we had breakfast at 7.30!! It was so funny actually so terrible to see 22 participants AND the leaders trying to open their eyes and walking ‘ghostly’ to have breakfast!

The bus was waiting for us down the 122 stairs, and after two hours in the bus we reached the open-air museum Pleterje, it’s a farmhouse and associated outbuildings, arranged around the farmyard. The buildings are built of wood with straw thatched roofs. This wasn’t so interesting but fortunately there was a friendly dog (a ‘donkey’ dog) and some hungry goats that were jumping and ‘mooing’ with some help of the participants …. And then we had a presentation in the monastery and went to buy Slovenian wine.

We went back to the bus and then to have lunch in Ote;ec in one hotel, the food was good and everyone was satisfied (or maybe they were very hungry), we had a chocolate cake as a desert.

After lunch we went to the middle age reception on OtoRec Castle which stands on an isle in the Krka River. It was built to defend and guard the river and near roads. In first instance it stand on one of the river’s banks, later a cannel was digged, that’s why it’s surrounded by the Krka nowadays. A young lady dressed up in a dark green medieval dress guided us through some chambers and told some information about the castle’s history. We visited a hall which is nowadays used for important meetings, weddings, Lions gatherings and more.

Finally we went Kayaking in the Krka River. We met the former Olympic representative and coach and three other guys who were very sweet and all the girls liked them especially the one with the orange t-shirt! :) (Don’t worry we have pictures of them!) YEAH!! :)

We went to change our clothes with a terrible tiny clothes, we had fun trying to put them on, jumping suffering ;)… after we wore a lovely “skirt” (boys and girls) and we put on yellow and red hats and sat in the small kayaks each one. The guides help us to cover our Kayaks with our “skirts” and taught us the way we should use the Kayaks. And then we start our journey. At first no one controlled his Kayak and we were loosing directions some were screaming some were laughing and some were staked in the forests near, but we were not afraid because we knew that we are safe with these cute guides. The most exiting thing was when we were jumping through the waterfalls, WE HAD SIX WATERFALS! It was so lovely and so funny to see how we were falling accidentally and some incidentally. Elif was a lucky girl because she had a private charming teacher. We had some races and plays in the 15 degrees water. Someone had an experience with snakes others with rocks..., but no one was hurt (of course:)).

We had dinner in the same place, we ate fish and had a cheese apple desert, and after we went to the bus and everyone were tired, so when we came back some went to sleep and others were talking about their experience and their wonderful day and about the boys in the Kayak’s place.

The day of the 19th July, Tuesday was slap-up with all kinds of activities and interesting events. After breakfast we went to Piran, walking directly through the shoreline. The sun’s rays were getting even warmer or they just seemed so, do not know. The richness of architecture from past centuries reflected on the frontage of houses and bearing witness to the town’s flourishing history, glowed in warm colors of the entire rainbow.

You couldn’t escape anything in Piran, every stone, every branch; every balcony of the building awoke your consciousness and beauty of the soul. You accepted them as the most genius pieces of story, not measuring the time by minutes – only by impressions.

At the maritime museum, another part of our excursion, we explored collections of the maritime past of the Slovene cost, naval history and economical activities. The archaeological and art collections were those that preserved and exhibited the works and thoughts that had become practically a part of the lives of people who lived years and years ago. That was an answer of conversation between the Past and the Present. The feelings, which we discovered in the bottom of the heart by admiring, those collections were not like we should have been people first and subjects afterwards. We had to recognize this connection.

When coming back everybody was discussing that-day sightseeing and was pretty tired but blessed by impressions. That night we had two presentations. One of them was Sweden and we were dancing and singing the song about a little frog. It was a tradition when the people in Sweden have a midsummer festival. We also enjoyed Rocio’s presentation when we learnt some special steps of Flamenco and had nice presents. We had great time and discovered lots of interesting.

Early in the morning….. As usual, stressing, hungry people in the kitchen, trying to grab the last remaining pieces of bread, honey and marmalade. The sun was shining, heating the earth, the bus and, last but not least, ourselves. The day had begun. Some brave people tried to continue the night during the bus trip. Nevertheless chaos, music and disorder disabled them to succeed in their attempts.

The weather forecast seemed not to be very accurate. The air was cloudy and damp. Later it would turn into “beaucoup soleil”, the sensible proof of a Mediterranean summer. After being handed over the maps, route description and other useful stuff we went to Bacchus to have a cappuccino, espresso doppio or kava macchianato. While enjoying drink we drafted the road on a city map of Ljubljana. Error must be excluded. The tour – named treasure hunt – forced us to pass by many of the artistic and architectural tesori, monuments and other remarkable places of Slovenia’s capital. Citizen Emona, harmonia philarmonicorum, Ple;nik’s many bridges, his national library, and the Slovenian variation on the Trevi fountain were no longer unknown to us. Welcome to Ple;nik city!

In tiny parts this large group containing many different nationalities was divided to explore the center of the center of Ljubljana, Laibach in very old times and once in the Roman era called Emona. Running in all directions, apparently chaotic, eating, drinking shouting to each other, buying batches from stand keepers along the river trying to reach Plešeren Square first. We, Gjorgi, Paolo, Jernej and Quirijn reached the bronze statue of Slovenia’s greatest writer first. Crowned by his muse, Julia, staring at her other picture in the wall of a nearby building for years, he was the monumental end of the city tour.

People were hungry and tired. Promised pizza was turkey. Turkey was disguised in the fleshy shape of pork meat (like always combined with potatoes). The problematic situation being a consequence of the created confusion (blame the restaurant) was solved with a cup of coffee in the end. The castle of Ljubljana seemed to be as high as mount Triglav. The tiring climb was regarded with a relaxing historical video or a breathtaking view from the highest tower. The headphones didn’t always work; the Slovenian explanation was most clarifying to some people.

Shopping means a lot to certain individuals. The real treasure hunt started in the afternoon. Some had a drink others felt the urge to spend their soldi. Luckily only one and a half hour was available for shopping. The shopaholics were forced to save their money! Primož’ wealth management was more effective then that of the most renowned private bank.

The night was dedicated to playing card, going out and getting loaded in Piran, the wish for another group picture was very prominent. It was satisfied in advance with the visit of Polonca Kukec Tomas. After having some chitchat, making GROUP PICTURE (Rudi) and handing over lions batches everybody enjoyed the evening. Swimming at three, when Primož already had been sleeping, might be late (Yasmeen). Smiling, happy and satisfied everybody went for bed.

We think today was the most special day and you are probably wondering why was it special…well first thing we had free morning time and finally we could wake up whenever we wanted... so, it was nice for the people that were so tired of previous days. While some of us went to swim and sunbathe the others were sleeping or playing cards. Secondly, it was Emma’s birthday (one of the girls from Sweden). It was pretty nice when she discovered the huge and delicious birthday’s cake!, after lunch time.

Early in the afternoon, we went to a boat-ride on Slovenian coast to Salina Natural Park, right to the border was Croatia, and it was a beautiful sight from the boat. Then the boat stopped on a piece of land and there we could see the ancient Slovenian salt extraction. As we came back to the boat we had fish picnic, we ate calamari and small octopus while the cook cooked for us our dinner some of us were swimming and trying all kinds of weird and funny jumps right into the water. After a few hours the boat arrived at the port of Piran. There we had some free time before coming back to Fiesa. At about eight o’clock, it was the time for country presentations of Denmark (by Rudi and Brit) and also of The Netherlands (by Quirijn). It was funny and interesting information, as usual. And we enjoyed the new song called “The second you sleep”, by Saybia.

After that, everyone went to take a shower and rest a little before going out again to Piran. We spent a good time at the pubs we went to and we also took a few “Group Pictures”…; ) !! Since it was our last day in Fiesa and Piran, everybody sadly had to pack their luggage before going to bed. As usual, some of us stayed awake till little hours of the night ….. and that was all for today.

Today was the day of moving camp. We have stayed the lovely Fiesa for almost a week, so bye, bye mosquitoes. However we felt sad to leave a place, where we have spent so many good hours. From this moment we wouldn’t be able to swim in the refreshing water o the Slovenian coast. However we hoped that the tiny bathrooms would be replaced by some more comfortable facilities.

After breakfast we packed our belongings in the bus. After departure from Fiesa, we went to visit the amazing cave of Postojna. We went by a small train to the heart of the cave. The sight became more and more astonishing, as we went deeper into the cave. The temperature however was less pleasant than the visual impression. The 8-10°C temperature forced us to wear warm clothes, that didn’t fit the warm weather outside and in the bus. Apart from this minor detail, it was a marvelous experience to walk around in such an incredible place, made by Mother Nature. This occasion provided a lot of possibilities to take group pictures with beautiful backgrounds. At one moment the light in a part of the cave disappeared, which left us with some confusion, till the light reappeared again.

At the end of the walk we came to the “concert hall” with particularly good acoustic. Here we filled the room with the tones of “Smaa Grudana”, as well as the two tenors (Veiko & Martin) entertained the crowd with their “O Solo Mio”. After visiting the Postojna, we went to the Predjama Castle. By now the clock was past one and we hadn’t had anything to eat since breakfast, so we had our difficulties concentrating, knowing that we would have lunch afterwards. This was actually a shame, because the castle quite interesting. Part of it was built inside a cave. A fascinating detail, though we might have become even more impressed, if we hadn’t been in the Postojna cave earlier.

We had lunch near the castle, before driving to Ljubljana for a short stop at the train station for tickets and money exchange. Finally we headed towards our destination: Bohinj. Gjorgij entertained the passengers in the bag of the bus, by performing his version of “The Second You Sleep” till we arrived in Bohinj.

So now we are here. No beach, no pubs, no shops, but a lot of children. This evening we also got a new camp member: Genz from Kosovo.

It was the first morning in the new camp place in Bohinj. For some people this morning started with morning exercises in fresh mountain air with Taja. Others were still sleeping or showering. At 8 we had breakfast. It was almost the same as in Fiesa. We even brought our own serials with us. But this time we had hot chocolate and it was good! It gave us energy and good mood. The bread was also fresher than in Fiesa.

We were very punctual and at 9.00 we stepped into 3 taxies, which were waiting for us. We went to the very old railway station where we started our journey into the past. Historical steam train took us through Grohovo into Most na So;i where tourist guides were waiting for us with schnaps and bread. Then we had one hour-long boat ride on So;a Lake with other tourists. The view was beautiful. And we all enjoyed the story about princess and the dragon that captain told us. Then we took the bus to Kobarid where we ate lunch in the restaurant of hotel “Hvala” with lots of other people.

The next sightseeing was Museum of 1. World War. We learned a lot about Slovenian history from first settlers who arrived to this territory till today. We also saw the movie about the War with loud sound effects but some people still slept during the film.

Then we came back with the same train. But this time we had diesel engine instead of steam engine. The enemy attacked the train and we were all of course very terrified. But not that terrified that we could not take a lot of pictures. At the dinner we had special Slovenian dish that name we can’t remember. But it was some kind of soup with pork and of course potatoes… After dinner some active campers went to swim. Actually the temperature of the water was less than 20 degrees, so it felt a bit too cold for some people. But the water was very refreshing and clean and swimmers saw a lot of fishes.

The last we had to do for this day were watching to the presentations. Today we learned about Estonia from Veiko and about Turkey from Elif and Asli. We tried real Turkish coffee and some of us liked it very much. After this long day some people still have energy to WATCH A MOVIE BUT WE HAVE ONLY ENERGY TO END THIS REPORT RIGTH NOW.

By: Emma Eriksson (Sweden) and Laura Suutari (Finland)

A sweet Sunday morning! We had breakfast at 8:30 and after that we had free time till 12 o’clock. In the morning we got a chance to give Primož some of our dirty clothes that we wanted to get washed. Many of us wanted to wash the towels because there was so much saltwater on them because of the last week in Fiesa coast. In our free time we did different things: some of us played soccer, some stayed in the bed and slept a little bit longer and some went to swim in the lake. When the time was 12, half of the group went to “Bohinj city” because of the Internet café… But there were only two computers and neither of them was working, so the LONG walk to the Internet café was worthless. Luckily the café was close to a market so we bought candies instead! :D

Today was the day when we got a chance to see our host families again. So at half past one we gathered together to a picnic place called “Pod skalco”, “Under rock”. The place was quite near to our camp so we went there by walking. Everybody’s host families were invited to come there and join us but unfortunately some of the families couldn’t make it. Families started to arrive around two o’clock. The president of Lion’s Club Bled visited there too. The picnic we had included a lot of different kind of meat and fried potatoes, too. The food was very good! We told our names and countries we’re from so that the quests would know a little of us all. Some of us and of the hosts played few games; others took a walk or just sat by the table and talked with their host families. Paolo and Nairooz even tried climbing on the rock wall! Everybody was having a great time! We came back from the picnic to our camp around 18:30 and then we went directly to have a dinner. Today we got some salad, potatoes with cheese and meat beefs (like in hamburgers). After the dinner we got our washed towels and clothes back from Primož.

In the evening two countries had their presentations, Finland and Israel. We weren’t able to start the program in punctual time because of the girl and boy scouts who were watching a film in “our room”, so we started at little late, at 21:00. First Primož and Miha told us few vital things about tomorrow’s program. And then it was time to hear about Finland. Hanna, Jenni and Laura told some facts and showed pictures about their home country. They had made a poster about Suomi – Finland. During a Finnish song Hanna and Jenni had taught to the others the beloved Santa suddenly entered the room. Everybody had been very nice because Santa gave presents (Finnish chocolate, salmiac and pinces) to us all (except to Laura who was missing at that time). Few group pictures with the Father Christmas and then it were Israel’s turn.

Yasmeen and Nairooz talked about their country, it’s history and famous places, like Dead Sea and Jerusalem. After all the information and pictures they showed us a dance with typical clothing and music from Israel. We were also dancing with them. Everyone got a Christian cross as a necklace or a praying lace from Yasmeen and Nairooz. Because the night was still young we started to play some games: we tried to play the peach game, met Billy and Willy, got some smiles and laughs from Juliets and Romeos and so on. This was a very good day!

By: Therese Olsson (Sweden) and Jenni Peltoma:ki (Finland)

We had breakfast at 8:30. At 9:15 we should be ready because of the hiking trip towards Slap Savica. Our purpose was to go by boat on punctual time to the other side of Bohinj Lake, to Ukanc, but the boat was delayed. So we had to wait about half and hour before we could go to the boat. The boat that we were on is called the tourist boat “Bohinj” and it took us along the largest lake of the National Park “Triglav”. The boat trip took about 20 minutes.

When we arrived at Ukanc we started to hike towards Savica Waterfall. That is one of the most famous and popular waterfalls in Slovenia. Primož and the other leaders told us we should were convenient trainers but a lot of campers didn’t have those here on the camp. It didn’t really matter though cause the way wasn’t so difficult to walk in. Some of us wanted to walk faster and others slower so the campers divided into two groups. The first walk, on a stony road, took about 45 minutes. Then we had a break to get some energy by drinking fresh COLD water and rest a while.

The second part of the hiking was quite hard because of the stairs (over 500 steps). The forest looked like a fairyland so we thought we were in the movie The Lord Of The Rings. When we finally arrived to the top we saw the beautiful waterfall and we took a group picture AGAIN. :P It was very warm there so everyone was in a sweat and at least little bit tired. Little by little we went down and walked back to the boat, which luckily was waiting for us.

After lunch (soup, of course, mashed potatoes, meat, salad and a piece of chocolate cake :) ) we had free afternoon to do what we wanted to do. Campers had also the opportunity to go canoeing on the lake and 12 showed up. Most of us went to the other side of the lake and on the way back to the shore Quirijn, Paolo and Jernej’s canoe turned around. Hahaha. :) Quirijn and Jernej swam back to the other side and left Paolo alone with the canoe. Two other canoes helped Paolo and the canoe to the shore and it took time. Happy end.

After dinner we had some free time before the presentation of the counties. Many of us were sleeping, not us of course since we had to write this. The countries that had presentation today were Italy and Ukraine. Paolo and Elena (Italy) told us about their hometowns and showed some pictures. We also listened to some Italian music. Olena and Anastasiya showed us the video about Ukraine and talked about the days Ukrainian people celebrate. They also gave us sweet wine with peach and Primož got a hammer that he can punish people who are late. Anastasiya taught us one song and we sang it very happily.

After the presentations Primož showed us all the pictures he (and also others) has taken during the camp. Pictures were nice and funny, especially Taja’s “part of the body – photos”. Now somebody is watching a movie but we are going to bed RIGHT NOW!!

Warning…
If you have to climb a mountain, you should remember to stretch your legs and body!!

Today was the day of golfing and a visit to the town of Bled. As usual we had breakfast way too early and the food was as usual not very interesting. Not punctual (because we had to wait for Genc and Primož) we traveled by bus to Bled Golfing Course. For some this was the first time on a real golfing course, and not just on a mini golf course in a camping place. With help from a real golf player, the once who wanted to try, could experience how real golfing feels like. And for starters, everyone would agree that golfing is not that easy as it looks when Tiger Woods are hitting the ball on TV. For some the ball didn’t even make it 10 meters.

We went to lunch at Golf Bled’s lake house, where we had a 4-dish menu. It was very fancy and very nice. This was the best lunch we have had on this trip, and with out a doubt the most expensive!!

After the lunch we went to Bled Castle, who gave us a peak over the Island who is in the middle of the lake. The view was very beautiful, and we had a GROUP PICTURE! (This is the first and last time I will write this word). By traditional boat we went from the castle to the Island where we had a half hour stop, so we could ring the wishing bell in the church, who according to the legend, will make your wishes come true if you ring it 3 times and each time make a wish. From the island we went to the shore where there was possibility to swim or we could go to the shopping center. But the center was almost nothing!! Then… Dinner! For Paolo and Elena it was a very pleasant meal... PASTA! For once the Italian campers were very, very happy!

This evenings country presentations was presented by Genc from Kosovo and the second part of The Netherlands by the man him self Mr. Q.

So remember... Stretch after climbing a mountain!!!

The alarm started to ring at 7.30 a.m., because we had breakfast at 8.30 a.m. After breakfast we left our camp at about 9.00 a.m. and we walked for half an hour to catch the cable car to Vogel. When we arrived in front of the entrance we must wait until 10 a.m. because we weren’t punctual!!! During the wait someone talked and others listened to music with CD player.

At 10 o’clock we were finally into the cable car and we started our trip. There were some people that were afraid for heights and so they sat down on the floor. The trip with cable car lasted for 3 or 4 minutes, but I think they were like an hour for someone!!! Not everybody went there with cable car, because they preferred walking from 7 a.m. and these persons were only man!!!

After GROUP PICTURES we started to walk. It was very hard walk in mountains because all the way is formed by stones and we had climb to climb all the time. At the beginning we were all together, but during the walk we were divided into two groups: one, which walked fast, and another, which walked slowly!!!

In the end half of us stopped and they didn’t go on the top of mountain. We walked for about 3 hours and when we had lunch we were very tired!!!! We had lunch at about 1.30 p.m. and we ate a traditional lunch in mountaineer’s house.

After the lunch we came back with cable car and we had free afternoon so we could sleep or take a swim in the lake!!!! Some went to Bohinj to have pizza or to buy souvenirs. We had dinner at 6.30 p.m. and at 9 o’clock we started the presentation of Macedonia and Sri Lanka. It was very interesting and I think that with presentation of Sri Lanka our eyes opened and we understand how lucky we are!

Today we woke up at 7.30. I think this was the earliest time that we woke up. After the breakfast we all got in the bus. Some of us slept and some of us tried to enjoy our last 2 days with camp friends. The trip took 2 hours and 15 minutes from Bohinj to Velenje.

After this long trip we arrived Velenje at 10.30 and went to Velenje coalmine museum. We were separated in two groups to go the museum. Before we went down, we wore coats and helmets and took our lunch with us. Then we went to 100 metres down from the surface. It was dark and cold. During this small trip we were informed about mining that was done in the past, mine workers, working conditions, mine accidents, the machines that is used for mining… There was an animation about accidents and it was interesting. During these 12 days, which we spent in the camp, we have visited a lot of museums and according to my opinion Velenje coalmine museum was the most interesting one. I really enjoyed it and spent good time!

After this we all got in the bus again because we went to Maribor. Since I’ve came Slovenia I have been hearing lots of beautiful things about Maribor and I was wondering if those are true or not. And now I can easily say that, these beautiful things that are said for Maribor are all true! I think the most interesting thing about Slovenia is that almost every building seems as historical work of art. I found those bildings fascinating in Maribor. By the way, I have to write something about the lunch because it was perfect. Some of us really missed pizza during the camp and at the end of lunch we were all happy thanks to Primož!!!

After the lunch we have visited one of Slovenian most famous vine cellars. We have learned how vine is kept, the best conditions of keeping, and some details like why we should not knock the vine barrel… Then some different kinds of vine were presented to us and before we drank vine, we were informed about the way the wine is drank. We had drunk dry, semidry and sweet vine. I think we have spent good time in Vinag vine cellar because idea of visiting a vine cellar is really interesting. I have visited a vine cellar for he first time and again thanks Primož.

Later we had little time for shopping and then we returned to Bohinj. There was pasta with powdered sugar (!) for the dinner. Anyway, at least we have tried something different and if one day someone asks us if we want to eat pasta with powdered sugar we know that we have to say NO, thanks to this experience. Until the late of the night we watched a short video about Slovenia and then we gave each other our addresses and after all this we went to bed…

We had breakfast at 8:30 and a food was very nice. When we finished breakfast we had a free morning, everybody went back to their rooms and started to pack our stuff. While packing we were very sad for leaving the camp but life moves on so “Don’t worry, Be happy” :). After we finished packing our stuff some of us went shopping and some went swimming. At 13:00 we had lunch. The food was nice as well (soup for starters of course, chicken rice and a salad for the main course and a desert). After lunch Primož explained to us what we had to wear for Adrenalin Park e.g. sneakers, spare of T-shirt in case we needed to change it. After that we had a break and majority went swimming. At 14:40 we had to be in front of the hotel (punctual as usual :)).

We went to Adrenalin Park and we met with their staff, first thing they said it was go to the toilette and it sounded very funny the way they said it. We got to the park and they started explaining the rules to us. We split into four teams; every single team had an instructor. We started putting the equipment on. The first one to start with the activity of Adrenalin Park was Rudi because he had to leave the camp earlier so he could catch his plane. It wasn’t as easy as we thought it’s going to be, we felt like we had ADRENALINE in our veins for real.

Rudi’s time to leave was approaching and he was very sad about it that when he had to say goodbye to us he was crying. The whole activity of Adrenalin Park lasted 2 hours and some of us have already left before we finished it and the main reason was the fear of heights. The truth is that Adrenalin Park was a very good experience for us and it was a true excitement, very special and we will remember it for the rest of our lives. We went back to the camp afterwards, we had a rest for a couple of hours and than at 19:00 it was dinnertime. After dinner all of us went to the conference room. Primož started to re-check our plane tickets to make sure everything was perfect and at the time we started taking some pictures and exchanging e-mail addresses.

Farewell party was a surprise for us because we didn’t know where it’s going to be held. At 21:30 we left for the club in the center of Bohinj. So the party started, the atmosphere was amazing, music was from the 1960s, which was very cool. Everybody was having fun, drinking, dancing etc. We stayed there till 1:30 am, which means we had to finish it because at 4:30 am some of us had to catch planes. After the party we went back to the conference room again and it was a very sad time because we had difficulties to say goodbye to each other. I have to mention that there are no words that can express the joy and the experience that I had during this camp, but I hope that we will meet again in a near future.

I wish you all the best and good LUCK with everything.
