Autobiography

Birth

I was born on the penultimate autumn day, i.e. on 29 November 1983, in Donetsk. I am the second child in my family: four years earlier my brother was born. My family: my mum – Timonina Nataliya Mikhaylovna – is a doctor; my dad – Timonin Anatoliy Viktorovich – is a miner, but now he doesn’t work in the mining industry; and my brother – Timonin Michael Antolyevich – graduated from DonNTU ( his web site is available here), now works in Kiev.

Childhood

My childhood was like most children had: I liked to run, play, was naughty at times, didn’t want to go to bed when it was necessary, and of course I dreamt of becoming adult as quick as possible to buy as many sweets and toys as I wished. I went to the kindergarten, but I don’t remember much about it. I used to fight with my brother until one event had changed the situation radically. I broke a large glass during the fight. I cut my hands and brother’s leg. The emergency doctor said that the last time he had seen so much blood was in Afghanistan, where he served. As a result my brother and I were being operated for 27 and 45 minutes respectively. After this event I understood that any problem can and must be solved peacefully, without any extreme.

School years

At the age of six I and my family went to India. My father worked according to the contract with the Indian mining company. I had been studying for 3 years there. In the hostel we lived there was organized a school for soviet children. There were only 7 pupils in the class. Our teacher was the Honored teacher of USSR. So it’s natural that the level of education was very high. In 1993 I came back home. Having finished the 4 form at school ¹ 2 I went to study to Classical Humanitarian gymnasia. Surprisingly, but the gymnasia was situated in my former kindergarten building. I was studying at the gymnasia for 3 years. At the same time I finished musical school, the piano class. Also I started training the karate, and kept on training up to the end of the second year of the University. By the end of the 7 form I understood that humanities were not my profile, so I came back to school ¹ 2. The last 4 school years I used to take part in different contests. I won the prizes in chemistry, biology, English. In the 11 form I determined with my further place of education: only DonNTU, the spatiality “Automation and Telecommunication”. Having finished the school with golden medal and successfully passed the rating exam I entered the Donetsk National Technical University.

University

Maybe like most of first-year student I waited impatiently for the first of September to feel what the student life was like. And fortunately my expectation came completely true: good group, the feeling of freedom and proud of being a student of one of the best universities in Ukraine etc. The first session, however like all the others I passed easily. And generally speaking, I’ve always liked to study. In the middle of the fourth year of studying I had to choose my scientific supervisor and the research trend. I’ve always been fond of robots and everything related to them. So it’s not surprising, that I chose Horhordin Aleksandr Vladimirovich to be my scientific supervisor. My first task was translating and detailed studying of the dissertation “Geometric analysis of parallel mechanisms” by canadian author Ilian Bonev. Having successfully done this work I made sure that I had made the right choose. As a result the parallel manipulator with 6 degrees of freedom was chosen as an object of researches. Therefore, in my master thesis I need to create control system for this manipulator.

My future plans

My nearest future intention is, undoubtedly, successful graduating from the university. What will be next, I don’t know. Maybe, it will be post-graduate course and then defending the PhD degree thesis. Or maybe, it will be good job and successful career. Or maybe, it will be something else. I don’t know what I am fated. But there is an excellent phrase in India: “When it’s time to solve the problem, The God will show you how to solve it”. So I don’t plan the future for a long period of time, I try to live with maximum benefit in present.
