Abstract on theme – "Hardware-Software Complex With The Indication Of Events"

Introduction

Digital devices have become an integral part of our everyday life. It`s really hard to imagine modern world without such devices as: mobile phone, pocket PC, electronic organizer. Each of these devices is designed to make work more comfortable and to improve its efficiency. The same aim has the suggested device. Quite often the PC user can’t notice the appearance of any background event, even of the most important one. From the other hand there can be certain difficulties with the adjustment of such event notification: inputing focus may be lost, the screen workspace decreases, etc. That’s why the designing of the device, which doesn’t interrupt the PC progress of work, but which tracks events is suggested.

Description of the device

In the context of the assigned task the hardware-software complex, including: the PC control program, interface circuit with the controller, administrative microcontroller, and the event-informing light-emitting diode display.

The complex algorithm represents the following:
1. The controlling program tracks the appearance of the events, which the user is interested in.
2. When the event appears, the program creates the data burst for the reflection and forms the controller interruption.
3. Controller interface circuit breaks the controller working process, and records new information for the reflection.
4. The information, user is interested in is reflected on the light-emitting diode display.

Among all the elements, which are represented in the picture 1, functional electronic diagram of interface unit is designed, and within the framework of the masters`s work the whole hardware-software complex will be created.

Conclusion

The hardware-software complex, which originality first of all is seen in the hardware structure, in which from the one hand functionates modern PC, and from the other hand- works LED display device. Interface unit is based on popular and understandable to all elements, which allows to manufacture the device and also makes it competitive.

The USB-coupling that is used guarantees the comfortable use of the device: spares the user the necessity of the additional communications with the system unit; enables its «hot» connection, excludes the necessity the connection of the additional current sources.

The usage of the given complex is oriented on the wide range of users, who are in need of the effective tracking of the events, which enter the system.

The extension of the application field of the designed device is possible at the expense of its transformation from the display device to the control device.
