I was born on the 14th of July 1984 in Donetsk, Ukraine.
I come from a usual Soviet professor's family.
Mother – Alla A. Kondrakhina (Mashevskaya). She graduated from Donetsk
polytechnical institute (DPI), qualification - applied mathematics, she is a computer programmer.
Father – Vitaliy P. Kondrakhin. He graduated from DPI, qualification - mechanical engineering, he is
a Professor of the Mining machinery department of Donetsk National Technical University, Doctor of science.
Brother – Peter V. Kondrakhin. He is three years older than me. He graduated from Donetsk National Technical University,
qualification - mechanical engineering, he is doing his candidate's of science dissertation.
There were a lot of well-educated persons in our family.
So my gene pool is excellent. But I was as a black sheep of the family.
When I studied at school I was not a diligent schoolboy.
I was an excelent pupil in the forth grade and after that everything was becoming
worth and worth. And finally 11 years of study passed uselessly. Like most children I also studied
at musical school, attended painting class and
tried a lot of sports.
My parents have always had itchy feet and inculcated in me and my brother
a love for adventures and so called extreme sports. We used to have camping trips around the Caucasus,
Crimea, go rafting and mountain skiing, climb rocks and mountains, ride bicycles.
Since the sixth grade I have been interested in rock climbing. I devoted very
much time to this and did rather well.
Historically our family was connected with Donetsk National Technical University,
so my entrance had been decided even before I was born. As I mentioned, I wasn't good
at school (though marks were rather well), but I have loved computers since my childhood.
We didn't have got a computer at home so I used to go to my
mother's work to play games. That is why I decided to study Computer Science.
It turned out that studying was harder than I expected. On my first year in the university
I did not well. But later I had to change the way of my life, gave up rock climbing
and set about books. And little by little my results were becoming better
and finally I became an excellent student. I have got a Bachelor of Computer Science degree and because
of high GPA I was proposed to continue my study at Magistracy.
I am not going to be a scientist. I am keen on programming and I dream of
being a programmer only. Now I am working in a software company. Hope to work here further
and obtain as much experience as possible. In future I hope to go abroad to work and maybe to stay if I like it.
