ChildhoodMy name is Akimenko Ylia Alexandrovna. My name originated from a Greek word meaning soft, fluffy, maybe that is why I am the person who respects friendship and has a lot of most devoted friends. I was born on a warm autumn day, on a great religious holiday – the Protection of the Virgin on the 14the of October. So, I consider her to be my patroness, bringing me luck. My parents are very kind people. Father – Akimenko Alexander Ivanovich – is a miner. Mother – Akimenko Lyubov Mikhaylovna – is a housewife. I spent my childhood in the surrounding of loving and caring people and I can definitely say that I was a spoilt baby (a spoilt, but not naughty). I didn’t go to a kindergarten, I and my elder sister were educated at home by my grandma. SchoolOn the 1st of September 1992 I was dressed in a uniform, and two huge bows were on my head. And I was entrusted with the most important mission – to ring a bell for the first lesson in my life. My first lesson was in secondary school ¹52 of Makeyevka. I liked studies and for me it was quite easy. I was a very active child – I participated in all school performances and celebrations, played in the school basketball team, in senior forms I was a volunteer in the organization “Youth for healthy life style”. Choice of a higher institutionFor a long time I wanted to be a doctor, to save human lives, but when I was finishing school I understood that this is not my cup of tea, as I am very afraid of blood. So it was very difficult for me to choose my future career. At then my father helped me. He explained how hard work at a mine is and how important it is to save and protect lives at mines. This opinion was basic in my decision. So, in 2002 I passed an interview and entered DonNTU, faculty of Geotechnology and production management, specialty “Safety of labour activity”. I didn’t regret that I had chosen this career and understood at once the importance and necessity of my specialty in our region. As 95% of all the accidents at mines are due to violation of rules of accident prevention the mine need well-qualified specialists to control and solve this problem. UniversityWhen I was a first-year student, it was very difficult for me to study. I didn’t know anyone, what to do or where to go. But later on I got acquainted with my group-mates who appeared to be great friends. And life at university got right. I took part in social life of the university (conference in religion). After I got a bachelor degree I chose to continue studies to get a master’s degree. Master’s workThe supervisor of my master’s work is an excellent teacher Yaylo Vladimir Vasilievich. Thanks to this man I learned a lot of useful things. It was he who advised the theme “Improvement of measures aimed at complex dedusting of mine air at mine ¹22 “Kommunarskaya” to decrease the occurrence of black-lung diseases (dust etimology)”. Future plansOf course, first of all I want to defend my diploma. I am young, ambitious, self-confident, I want to find my place in life and devote myself to my favourite job, find a highly-paid position and the to devote the following 5 years to my career, and only after that to think about my private life. One more thing – I want the dream of my childhood to come true – to visit Paris and to see the Eiffel Tower. |
