Transition of Ukraine from a planned economy to the market economy was accompanied by unfavourable volume variance of total coke more than in 2 times, that, however, has not changed traditionally problem condition of a raw – material base of a coking.
It is possible to ascertain, that on changeover to deficit of good caking coals has come not less heavy deficit of high metamorphic poorly caked unproductive components it has led to increase in a volatile – matter content from a mix material on the average on 2,4 % and to decrease of an exit of total coke (approximately on 1,7 %).
Against an unsatisfactory condition of the coal industry of Ukraine as a whole successes of the coal company “Shaft Krasnoarmejskaya Zapadnaya ¹1”, developing a coal seam d4 are especially impressing. The first starting complex has been placed in operation in 1990 its designed power made 1,5 million tons of coal a year, in 1996 its power made 1,74 million tons, and in 2002 – 4,6 million tons.
The characteristic feature of this coal it is high coking capacity at rather low caking (Y = 12 – 14 mm). The low contents of sulphur (Std = 0.7 – 0.8 %) along with high coking capacity provide preference of use of this coal in the capacity of the basic mix – materials component for a coking.
From survey of the scientific and technical literature it has been installed, that shaft coal «Krasnoarmejskaya Zapadnaya ¹ 1» cannot be referred to any mark of coals according to active coal – rank classification of Ukraine (State standard 3472 – 96). It borrows an intermediate position between typical Donetsk êîêñîâûìè and fat coal for the parameters complex of composition, structure and technological characteristics.
From the explorations lead by us it has been installed, that presence at mix material of shaft coal «Krasnoarmejskaya Zapadnaya ¹ 1» essentially improves quality of gained coke. At increase in the contents of the given coal from 30 % to 70 %, values of quality indicators have changed as follows: CRI has decreased from 41,52 % to 34,73 %, CSR has increased from 37,28 % to 46,9 %. These results are the basis for continuation of exploration of the given coal properties, for the purpose receptions of mathematical association of gained coke quality, from the contents of this coal in a mix material.
Results of literary survey and the explorations lead by us, represent specificity of material composition and structure of shaft coal «Krasnoarmejskaya Zapadnaya ¹ 1», and also specificity of the gained cokes in comparison with composition and structure of other coals and cokes, and testify to inexhaustibility of any coal as object of scientific knowledge.
