Autobiography

Preschool childhood:

I, Kucherenko Sergey Victorovich was born 10 September 1988 in the city of Makeevka, Donetsk region. My mother, Kucherenko Anna Ivanovna, that tima worked as a teacher of Ukrainian language and literature at school No 34, my father, Kucherenko Victor Nikolaevich worked at the Kholodnaya Balka mine. Every year since I was ten month-old and my parents had their holiday I travelled with them by train for a distance thousands kilometres to see my relatives. Probably just that very occasion has caused my first great and long-term hobby. It was a railway. When I was four I got a toy railway as a present from my parents and spent a lot of time with it. What else I have remembered is my metal toy construction set made in the Soviet Union whereby I was contriving various means.

From the age of three to five I went to the kindergarten. It was not the best period in my life as I did not like to attend this child care institution. Next two years I helped my parents to nurse my younger brother Vladislav who was born in 1993.

Junior and high school:

In 1995 I became the pupil of the form 1-C at school No 50. When studying at junior school I did not get any great success which upset my parents very much. At the fifth form I began to attend incomplete secondary school No 71 as there was the first shift studying. Right at this school I began to study better, began to attend a basketball circle, and my coach Valentina Timofeevna was the first step in hardening my character. When I was a pupil of the sixth form the tutors of the children’s railway visited our school and invited us to their circle. Due to the fact I liked the railway I began to attend studies regularly. Originally I was a conductor then moved up the peculiar ladder of advancement with great enthusiasm and became a inspector, an assistant engine driver, an engine driver.

Inasmuch as school No 71 was shut down in 1997 I came back to school No 50 to my already seventh form C. From all school subjects best of all I liked History, Geography, Physics, Chemistry. Besides, I with pleasure attended Labour Training lessons. Our teacher was the first to see my faculty of a mechanical engineer and advised to enter the mechanical department. However by that time I fancied myself as an engine driver on the railway because I went on regularly attending studies of the children’s railway. After finishing basic secondary school I was going to enter the vocational school in the town of Yasinovataya and to acquire a profession of the assistant engine driver. But for health reasons I had to leave my dream aside and to pursue my studies in the tenth form of my school.

My attitude to learning has changed and I became much more responsible. I thoroughly did my lessons and began to attend meetings of the Small Academy of Sciences.

University

In 2005 after finishing school and having done well on my entrance exams I was admitted as a first year student of the mechanical department of Donetsk National Technical University by Metal-Cutting Lathes and Setups specialty. From the very first days of my studying at this higher educational establishment I realised that I have not mistaken my vocation. Surely, at first it was difficult to come into tempo required by our lecturers. After school it was difficult to wind yourself because, fundamentally, school workload can not be compared with university workload as well as they have absolutely different education schemes. It was the main difficulty for me. So the notes of my record book far from excellent were the result of my first session but the following notes have become better and better. Unfortunately, low results of the first trimester left traces on my average grade.

Since as far back as at school I was fond of History, on my first year I participated in all-Ukraine theoretical and practical student conference. Starting from the third year I have been doing a professional research work and have such achievements as “Producing process of blanking plates with adjustable grit” work. I took part in competition on the best students work in educational establishments of Russia and CIS countries where I took the fourth place with “Projecting and strength calculation of the feed motion for the lap of the installation for the amendment of diamond rings by mean of loose abrasive in ÑÀÏÐ ÀÐÌ WinMachine media” work. /when I was on my fourth year I attended an international machin-building conference in the city of Sevastopol where I took floor with “ÌÀÃÍÈÒÎ-ÀÁÐÀÇÈÂÍÎÅ ÏÎËÈÐÎÂÀÍÈÅ ÂÎËÎÊ» report. I took the second place with my work. On my fifth year I have continued my research activity in the city of Kremenchug where the all-Ukraine contest of students work in the field of “metal working in the machine building industry” took place. I was given a diploma.

Future prospects

The primary task is to defend master's thesis and to get the master’s grade. In what follows I want to see the world or at least its greater part. In my professional sphere I want to be involved in space designing.
