Short biography

Childhood

I Oriola Victor Olushola was born on 2nd of January 1987 in Oyo town Nigeria. My mother Christie Oriola works at Lower Niger River Basin and Rural Development Authority. My father Emmanuel Oriola works at University of Ilorin. I spent my childhood in Minna, Niger Sate. My early childhood was spent with my mother. She groomed me to become what I am today.

School

In 1990 I started kindergarten in Minna but my mother was later transferred to Ilorin where I completed my primary education. I gained admission into Federal Government College Ilorin in 1997 for my secondary school education where my formative years took place. During my secondary school days , I made a lot of friends and acquaintances. I took special interest in geography and biology as subjects and soccer in term of sports. I was in the boarding house all through my stay in secondary school, hence I had more time to study so I came out in flying colors in all my examinations. During my stay in secondary school, all my teachers were wonderful but Omolara Oyewole was exceptionally helpful. She played a great role in shaping my personality. I will ever remain grateful to her and the rest of my teachers for all the concern shown to me.

University

In 2003 I gained admission into university of Ilorin to study geology. I chose geology as a subject because of my love for geography in secondary school. Life at the university was fun filled and very interesting. I met some of my old friends from my secondary school in the University but I still made a lot of new friends. During my course of study in the University, me and my course mates underwent field trips in different parts of the country. We were at Lokoja, Share and Iloffa to mention but a few. We gained a lot of skills from the field trip and we had an unforgettable experience. After I bagged my Bsc in geology I underwent the compulsory one year National Youth Service Corps program in Akwa-Ibom state where I worked with stemco construction company.

Based on my quest for more knowledge and to become a very sound geologist I decided to put in for masters program. I felt I needed more exposure and sound training so I decided to travel abroad to study for my masters, hence the choice of Donetsk National technical University. So at the moment I am a master’s student at Donetsk National Technical University. My scientific adviser –Professor Volkova Tatyana Petrovna. With her we have chosen a relevant and important topic “Modeling of genetic factors of gold ore formation”.

Plans for the future

After I bag my Msc, I still intend to study for my Doctor of Philosophy in order to acquire more knowledge to achieve my aim, which is to become one of the best geologist of all times. Secondly to own a geological consulting firm.
