Abstract
Background.
At the present stage of development of Ukraine to ensure effective functioning of the industry needs to continuously improve the competitiveness of their products and processes, optimum utilization of production capacity, flexible response to changes in the environment. Performing these tasks possible through the systematic implementation of innovation. However, today the share of industrial enterprises engaged in innovation activities and can be classified as innovation active, remains low. To help enhance the innovation activity of domestic industries is possible by applying new approaches to innovation management, which would take into account the impact of the results of its implementation in different areas of the company. A special place in the economy of Ukraine is the steel industry. Therefore, it is important to study these processes in the field of metallurgical enterprises. Such a task needs to be improved scientific methods of evaluating the effectiveness of innovation as an important part of enterprise process management.

For research investment and innovation processes are taken into account the following methods:

The purpose and objectives of the study. The aim is to further develop theoretical propositions, developing methodological approaches and practical guidelines on the assessment of growth and innovation performance engineering companies.To achieve this goal has been formulated and solved the following problem:
- defined the nature and characteristics of investment processes
- specificity was investigated theoretical foundations of innovation
- consider the implementation of specific legal regulation of innovation activity in Ukraine
- the process of investment in steel mills Ukrainian economy
- research investment and innovation in the steel industry
- studies were conducted economic climate realization of investments
- Consider increasing the efficiency of investment and innovation processes in the metallurgical enterprises of Ukraine
Object of research - innovative activity of industrial enterprises.
The subject of the study is theoretical and methodical approaches to evaluate the effectiveness of innovative activity of enterprises of metallurgy.
Testing work. This work involves the study of methods to solve real problems in today's economy. After completing the tasks in this section, turn yourself in sponsoring the report. The results of the application will be filed for an invention or published article. The practical value lies in the fact that the methods used and the results of the research can be applied in metallurgical enterprises. Thus, enable to function more efficiently.

The introduction proved the relevance of the research topic, the essence of scientific problems and the state of research on innovation and assess its effectiveness, defined goal, task, object and purpose of the study revealed scientific novelty and practical value of the results.The first section clarifies the definition of "Enterprise innovation activities"; improved classification of factors affecting innovation, disclosed the content management UI and systematized its principles and functions, clarified the meaning of "efficiency innovation enterprise" and generalized approach to evaluating the effectiveness of innovation .
The second section analyzes the results of innovative activity of industrial enterprises in Ukraine, as well as the effectiveness of innovation of enterprises.
The third section analyzes the possibility of improving the efficiency of investment and innovation. The analysis verified by LLC "Zenith".
