Studying at an art school

From an early age, I loved to draw. Until the 9th grade, I drew and studied it on my own, but from the 9th grade I went to study at the Makeyevsky Art School.

I studied at the art school for three years, did not graduate because I entered DonNTU and did not have enough time to fully study both there and there.

Over the years of studying at art school, I took part in competitions and Olympiads, met wonderful talented people. Below are a few of my works from the time of my studies.

The class I went to was more focused on such a style as Impressionism, which prompted me to study impressionist artists such as Monet, Renoir, Van Gogh. The latter is already considered a post-impressionist. Impressionist artists tend to work with brushstrokes, with pure colors. They do not use black paint in their work, but try to mix it from other suitable dark colors. They abandon the contour in their works, replacing it with contrasting strokes. They divide the colors into primary and dual:

Blue Orange

Red Green

Yellow Purple

The colors placed side by side enhance each other, and when mixed, they reduce the intensity.

Favorite artists

In addition to Impressionist artists, while studying at art school, I became interested in the work of the Czech artist Alphonse Maria Muha. Which is known for its advertising posters for theatrical performances or any products.

I also want to mention the landscape painter, our fellow countryman of Greek origin, Arkhip Kuindzhi. He is famous for his landscapes, which depict, among other things, the steppes of the Donetsk region.
