Biography

I was born January 20, 1986 in Zhitomir, Ukraine in the family of a theater director – Grinchenko Anatoliy Petrovich and theater actress Grinchenko Zoya Ivanovna (1948-2007). At present time my father works as a video engineer and operator at OOO IRK “Virobnyk Ukrainy”. Much influence in my uprising I received from my older brother, Grinchenko Artem Anatolievich, who was also born on January 20 but in 1972. He currently works as a Systems Engineer at a large telecommunications company in Toronto, Canada where he lives with his family. My family and I moved from Zhitomir to Donetsk in 1986 when I was only 4 months old, so I hardly remember anything about my birth town.

As you might have guessed, much of my childhood was spent at a theater and on out-of-town tours. While my parents were busy at theater performances other actors, make-up artists, costume designers helped baby-sit me. By the time I was 4 years old I had memorized many lines and scripts of different story characters such as “Red Hat”, rabbits, gnomes. When I was about 6 years old, my parents decided that it was a good time to put me into kindergarten “Belosnezhka”. Even now I remember of not favoring green bean soup, the sleep hour, and a girl named Ira. Of course, I remember my first object of admiration at that time – tall and brown-eyed boy Sasha, however our paths never crossed. At the kindergarten I participated in different artistic activities: dancing, singing, plays.

In September 1993 I went into the first grade of Secondary School #32. During school years I participated in mathematics and Ukrainian language contests, went to dance and art classes.

In the year 2000 my parents noticed some inclination in me toward scientific disciplines and transferred me from Secondary School into Donetsk Technical Liceum. There I met many new acquaintances who have become great and supportive friends by now. My hobby at the time was break-dancing that I tried to master to prove to myself and others that I can do it. In the end not only I mastered it well over the two years but I was also selected as an instructor of break-dance classes. When I studied in the Liceum I became interested in programming languages. I even completed DonNU Pascal programming courses in 2002. From that experience I knew what to expect from my University studies. When I was choosing my University specialty, the connection with medicine was an appealing factor in that choice. As they say: “We are programmers and medics and may be someone else…”

Year 2003 – graduation exams, gold medal, prom, admittance interview at a University, new class, new acquaintances, freshman student debut, KVNs – life became very exciting. The first four years at the University went by fast and were quite interesting. During that time I completed my first internship at the “INVH” diagnostic center named after V.K. Gusak where my research was concentrated on ultrasound diagnostic equipment. My second internship took place at the NII (scientific research center) of Medical Problems in Families at a scientific-research lab headed by Gerasimov Igor Grigorievich, PhD Biology, MSc Chemistry, and professor of “ASU” faculty. This second internship was focused on research of life processes of blood cells, which also remains an area of my study today. In 2007 I received a Bachelor Diploma with honors and accepted a job offer from “SOS Computer” company.

Now I am studying toward my Master’s degree. Gradually my life becomes more interesting, at times it is more challenging than before, at other times it is a bit easier. It becomes apparent during University years how one’s personality grows up, some values and principles start changing, you begin to set higher goals and aspirations and you begin to learn how to achieve them.

One of such goals set by my instructor and Senior Faculty Member of ASU faculty Privalov Maxim Vladimirovich, is writing and defending a thesis on “Design and Architecture of specialized computer system of forecasting of blood cell process adhesion parameters in vitro”. I very much hope that this work and research will find good use in the field of diagnostics and treatment of cell diseases.

Future Plans? I have many of them – earn MSc Diploma, find interesting and challenging job, achieve results in my profession, ensure financial security for my family and meanwhile meet someone special, create a family – this list can go on forever. But most importantly it is to find a place in life and make happy those people dear to you, who are always by your side, and who always live in your heart…
