Short Biography

§ Childhood

I was born on February 19, 1987 in Donetsk, Ukraine. Such snowy winters are extremely rare. According to parents that year snowdrifts sometimes were up to a meter high! I was not the first and the only child in the family. Thanks to my older brother I had a vivid childhood! I still live in my hometown. Donetsk is a large city in eastern Ukraine on the Kalmius river. Administratively, it is a center of Donetsk District, while historically, it is the unofficial capital and largest city of the economic and cultural Donets Basin (Donbass) region. According to the 2001 Ukrainian Census, Donetsk is the fifth-largest city in Ukraine.

I started nursery school when I was 4. It was one of the best preschool in our city. Looking back I can state that every teacher was not just a great person, but also an excellent psychologist! We've got all-round education in nursery due to good material base. I started to learn English there, attended art studio. Every single class was extremely exciting! For sure, I owe my passion for education and creative strategy to nursery school teachers. It was a great time, full of peace and love, sunshine and smiles.

§ School Time

I went to school in 1994. I always remember my first teacher with deep respect and great appreciation. She taught me how to work hard. She planted the seeds of diligence, competence, self-management. I was a good student. I was awarded for perfect progress in education every year without any exception.

Approximately at the age of nine I started extra music classes. I couldn't not to mention my teacher at the music school. We had a great time together, so with other boys of our class I used to spend a lot of interesting time at the school, much more than it was required by education plan!

Foreign language classes, started at nursery, was continued at school as an out-of-school lessons with a tutor. I started to learn German when I was a student of eighth grade. At that time informatics started to take its place in my mind. When the first computer appeared at my home, I decided to attend extra courses in math and programming. I would go to the special department in Donetsk State University every weekend. I had mathematics on Saturdays and informatics on Sundays. We met great people in the university and felt college atmosphere there. Our math teacher was the greatest man I had ever met by that time and informatics lecturer was a real young talent. Undoubtedly, extracurricular classes at the university had improved my knowledge base. My progress was noticed by school teachers of appropriate disciplines.

My achievements in computer science had been appreciated by friends and classmates. By the way, our class was very friendly and full of interesting people. Someone took a great interest in biology and could carry along with the stories about insects; for someone else history was something much more than just learning the facts of curriculum and I also could spend hours telling why GNU/Linux is better than other operating systems. In graduate classes I had participated and took first places in the informatics contests.

Being an undergraduate at the moment of writing I want to say that I am always lucky with the teachers. All my teachers are not only just professionals in their subject but also unique people which impart to their students something special. Looking back to school time I would like to give a tribute to our Principal which was not just a perfect leader but also a great teacher. I still have not seen more rapid rising of any organization as it was with our school under her control. I want to give many thanks to all teaching staff without any exception. My class did not consider mathematics as a boring world of numbers. We saw a powerful methods to solve different tasks. It wouldn't happened without our math teacher. I was a winner in international math contest 'Kangaroo' due to her. The other one managed to teach even the hopeless lyricists physics! We learned how to write synopsis thanks to our biology teacher. We wouldn't be so successful at the uni without that experience. Last but not least the Russian literature lessons which were awesome. Each of them we looked forward to and we were always welcome. For sure, we've got more than simple academic exercises at the school. Thanks to our teachers we have no difficulties in the subsequent achievements.

I have also got a public speaking experience at school. Moreover I had been elected president of students' self-government. I used to make a speech in front of the numerical audience which in most cases was much older me. I met some famous politicians during that period.

My passion for computers in school didn't give a choice of future proffesion. So I decided to take an entrance examination at the Computer Science Department of the Donetsk State Technical University. I passed it and was recommended for incorporation into the ranks of students of Donetsk National Technical University.

§ Student Days

I think not only for me the first course was exciting. New team, new impressions, new lifestyle! I'm sure everyone remembers the unique feelings and experience associated with the first year at the university.

At the computer science department I continued to improve my skills in computer engineering and programming. It's difficult to highlight key classes. I think every of them was important for understanding the whole picture of computers' structure.
University gives us more than higher education, even more than the ability to learn. Our faculty graduates true engineers - people who can think, understand, innovate, solve problems.
In addition, I am expanding the scope of my competence with the knowledge of economics and management.

Frankly speaking, the specific reason for applying to master's degree doesn't exist. Personally for me, it was the only way.
There are so many interesting things around that could be explored and improved to make our life better and more comfortable! Perhaps, this is the main idea of master's degree.
It is said that we live in information society. Everyone talks about importance of information and its storing and protection. I am engaged in the development of optimal, convenient and secure method for both storage and access to information, which is represented in computer systems. See, currency of topic doesn't need comments.

Now I feel myself full of ideas and plans for the future.
