Autobiography

I, Khomenko Vyacheslav Nikolayevich, was born on 6 September 1983 in Donetsk, Ukraine.

Family

Mother Khomenko Ludmila, 1955
Uncle Khomenko Alexander, 1960
Grandfather Khomenko Nikolay, 1931
Grandmother Khomenko Nadegda, 1932

Preschool age

I will commence this short description of my life from the childhood. The most well remembered events are those which shake a person - i.e. fear, glow of happiness, joy and pain. Memorizing of these events is a reflection of an organism, search for an exit in the continuously generated life's labyrinth.

One of my first and most vivid recollections is when I was christened in the church. I remember that it was a great shock for me. The atmosphere scared me: shade, yellow light of candles, vague shadows, and a man who seemed to look at me sternly. But when he saw a fear in my eyes he tried to smile.

I visited two kindergartens. At a very young age I was sent to a day nursery, and in half a year I was transferred into the kindergarten for more grown-up children. It consisted of three groups. I was sent to the middle group. At first I was worried that it would be hard for me to join other children in the sense of mutual understanding, because even half a year is a huge difference in age for very young kids. All my worries were for nothing.

School age

When I was 6 my uncle took me for the karate training. At the age of 7 I was sent to school. Gym was situated far away from my home. I needed more time to learn at school and that's why I stopped my trainings. My parents presented me a personal computer the same year. It was called Micro-88. It had the memory capacity of 64 ĘB and no hard disk drive. Programs had to be loaded from a magnetic tape through the consumer recorder. It was a very long process. Micro-assembler was written in the PC's ROM. There was an ability to load BASIC's interpreter from the magnetic tape. It occupied almost all the RAM. My uncle roused my interest in programming. It happened when he has showed me the possibility of changing the execution algorithm of one program written in BASIC.

During 11 school years I learnt at the Donetsk Specialized Middle School #65. Specialization of the school is the humanities. An accent was made on literature, the Ukrainian and English languages. We started to study English from the second form. I also studied base of German language.

I was keen on writing literature compositions, on programming, liked to read books. I also liked to contrive. For example, I assembled little cars using constructor sets and then installed a little DC motor on them. I provided the possibility of its reversing by commutation of the DC source polarity.

My passion for informatics has become a very profitable occupation. I wrote my first "commercial" program in the 1999. This was a simple program for sales and salary accounting (as % from sales + monthly wage) for a little CDs shop. But the fee was peculiar enough. It was the possibility to use their CDs for free. I also took part in competitions in informatics.

I studied maybe in 9 form, when I entered ecological and biological hobby group. My class-fellow Rudenko Andrei recommended it to me. Biologist Mr. Chub Igor was the instructor of this group. I liked the form of communication that was free, but in most cases it concerned themes of expeditions and biology. I even went to the expeditions a few times. They were very interesting and were stamped on my memory.

Wherever I go I really rarely take a camera. It's because reminiscences and visual, auditory, sensual images allow restoring the picture of what was happening much more lively.

At university

In 2001 I entered the Electrotechnical department of DonNTU. I set a task for myself - to reach success in the studies to become a specialist in selected domain.

I think that the basic subject for the students of our department that helps to study specialised sciences is the Theory of Electrical Technology (TET). I took the 3rd place in the first round of the All-Ukrainian TET competition. After that I had the possibility to go to Lvov. This city amazed me with the beauty of ancient streets, buildings, squares, gardens. If one takes a look at Lvov from a big height one can see how it ineffably mixes up with park which seems to be spread everywhere like a green web. When I walked along the narrow streets of the Old city, I always had a feeling that these streets bring people together, make them more friendlily. I also liked the central city park. It was so interesting to watch tens of aged people who were sitting on benches in the park's alley and playing carts, chess...

A year later I took part in the All-Ukrainian electromechanical competition. Our university's team consisted of Sheludko Dima, Katello Zakhar and me. The competition took place in Kremenchug. I took the 4th place. Sheludko Dima took the 1st place. So, our university took the first place in the all-team result. The competitions took place in Kremenchug State Polytechnic University. It is situated in such a place that students have an opportunity to take swim in Dnepr after studies. The students' hostels are situated far enough from the university, but it is a real city, because it is logically separated from other part of the city. It consists only of hostels and the stadium.

In half a year I received the distinction certificate of bachelor's degree.

Reasoning of the theme selection:

The problem of reliability control for electromechanical equipment, of its state determination and control without disassembling, of technologic state prediction and of emergency conditions prevention is topical. It includes a lot of technical and science questions: mathematical formulation of typical diagnostic models of electromechanical systems, signal processing, and analysis of malfunction diagnosis methods.

Prospects for 5 years

Preparation and defence of the master's thesis. Post-graduate study. Preparation of Ph.D. thesis. Practical experience in the selected research field.

Prospects for 25 years

Defence of Ph.D. thesis. Scientific research in the selected field and improvement of the developed methods of diagnostics.

My passions

Music. I play the bass guitar in a grind trio. Vladislav - guitar, Sergey - drums. Go in for sport - karate. Informatics. Fishing. Nature.
